The oil rose was brought to Bulgaria more than three centuries ago. It is not only an object of admiration, raw material for the production of Bulgarian rose oil but it is also used as food and medicine. Reports of medical application are known from Ancient Egypt, Ellada, yet in ancient Rome the rose has the glory of sobering means after alcohol abuse. Horace recommends putting a pink color in the wine. It was believed that the aroma of roses suppressed the wine's vapors and prevented from drinking. Avicenna heals the headache with rose oil, believes that the rose is good for the liver and uses it for the treatment of the liver diseases. It applies it to fluid in the abdomen, i. E. in ascites, prescribes pills containing pink leaves. Rose preparations originally applied in cosmetics, obstetrics and gynecology as advances in pharmaco-therapeutic theory and practice and on the basis of ophthalmic medicine find an ever wider application. For the healing effect of rose oil, there are many studies and proven therapeutic effects in the treatment of bronchial asthma, pulmonary abscesses, pulmonary tuberculosis, for the treatment of gallstones, lowering the level of low and very low total cholesterol, triglycerides and lipoproteins. the level of high density lipoprotein, which is thought to protect against atherosclerosis. Besides pink oil and rose leaves (pink flowers), they have been used since ancient times and by folk medicine, as a gallop and a laxative. They also have a hypotonic, spasmolytic and relaxing effect and are used to treat abdominal and back pain.

The powdered Rosa damascena dry extract, thanks to it’s flavonoid glycosides of quercetin and kempferol type, catechin, tannin, anthocyanins, mircene, Vit. C have also antioxidant, antitussive, bronchodilactant, antidiabetic action. A positive effect on dementia has been found in Alzheimer, having a gerantological effect (similar to Ginkgo biloba preparations). An anti-HIV effect (in vitro) was also detected. Extracts of fresh and used pink color suppress lipid peroxidation, have an anti- rheumatic effect.
- Manufacturing Process
The powdered Rosa Damascena Dry Extract is manufactured from fresh rose blossom (flowers). The manufacturing process containes water-ethanol extraction, concentration under vacuum and Spray drying (Anhydro dryer).
