Use whenever seeding a new lawn or over-seeding an established lawn. This special blend provides extra root-building nutrients that are vital to the early growth stages of turfgrass.
Instructions for planting new Lawn:
Lawn grass roots need at least 6 inches of topsoil (8 to 12 inches is ideal). This allows the grass plants to establish deep, extensive root systems, from which they can take up needed nutrients, water and oxygen. A good soil bed will give a more uniform stand of vigorous turf and will require less frequent watering. Check to determine the depth of your topsoil bed. If you need to add more soil, select soil with a sandy texture rather than one with more silt and clay. Add the new soil in layers 3 to 4 inches thick, and rototill to mix into existing soil for a uniform planting bed.
