Buckwheat (Common) is a Fast summer green manure.
Buckwheat is widely grown as a grain crop, bee pasture, soil improving cover crop and as wildlife cover. It is a warm season grain which grows rapidly during the summer and several crops per year may be had with proper management. This rapid and dense growth chokes out weeds and is used in crop-free fields in rotation with vegetables. Buckwheat is often grown to attract beneficial insects and as pasture for honey bees. Sow in late May through July and till in about a month later, when flowering has begun.

Buckwheat is a Fast summer green manure. Sow in late May through July and till in about a month later, when flowering has begun. For grain harvest, sow 3 months before fall frost. Harvest after killing frost. Select organic or conventional seeds. Avg. 15,600 seeds/lb.

Johnnys Selected Seeds Buckwheat

Barley (Pinnacle) is a Two-row malting barley. Maturing a few days later than Conlon, Pinnacle produces higher yields with lower protein, plumper grains, and a stronger stand. Released by North Dakota State University's barley breeding program. Sow at 80-125 lb./acre or 2 lb./1,000 sq.ft. Plant in early spring to summer. Certified Seed (blue tag). Avg. 8,300 seeds/lb.

Johnnys Selected Seeds Barley (Pinnacle)

Barley (Quest) is a Six-row barley with improved disease resistance. A six-row malting barley for spring 
sowing that has improved Fusarium head blight (or scab) resistance. Higher yielding than Robust barley, which it replaces. Sow at 85 
lb./acre or 2 lb./1,000 sq.ft. Plant in spring or summer for a cover crop. For grain production, sow seeds in spring.

Spring Wheat (Glenn) is a Excellent milling and baking quality. We're sorry, this product has been discontinued and is no longer available. Hulless with very good test weight and protein. Glenn hard red spring wheat has excellent all-around disease resistance, with the best tolerance to scab (Fusarium head blight) we have found. 

Johnnys Selected Seeds Spring Wheat (Glenn)

Hulless Oats (Streaker) is a No hulls to remove. When harvested and threshed, the oat kernels are almost free of the tough, inedible hulls of common oats. After winnowing, the grain is ready to cook for oatmeal or grind for oatflour. Remove any lingering hulls by floating them off in water, then air-drying the grain. This is a medium-height variety. For grain production sow seeds in early spring for a late summer harvest.

Johnnys Selected Seeds Hulless Oats (Streaker)

Barley (Conlon) is aSpecialty two-row malting barley. This early maturing barley has plump kernels, and is medium yielding with moderate lodging. Released by North Dakota AES in 1996. Sow at 85 lb./acre or 2 lb./1,000 sq.ft. Plant in spring or summer.

Johnnys Selected Seeds Barley (Conlon)

Oats (Common) is a Standard choice with multiple uses. Early maturing and good standing with very high yields. A good choice for underseeding with a legume. Oats are a quick-growing green manure. For winter cover, sow by early Sept. in the North, slightly later farther south; the heavy stubble will prevent erosion and oats will not regrow in the spring like winter rye.

Spring Wheat (Lang-MN) is a High-yielding and very good baking quality. Hard red spring wheat with very good test weight and high protein. Lang-MN wheat has good all-around disease resistance, including scab, stripe, and stem rust resistance. 
Mid-to-late maturity. New variety bred by the University of Minnesota. Sow as early as possible in spring (delay reduces yield), about lb./1,000 sq.ft. (120-140 lb./acre), less in drier climates. Harvest August–September. Blue label/Certified seed. USDA Certified Organic. 
Avg. 16,100 seeds/lb.
