Our organic Fairtrade cocoa butter drops come from Peru. They are carefully manufactured there under the highest standards. The cocoa beans themselves come from all over Peru and are collected by various smallholder groups. Thanks to the extensive organic and fair trade projects, the farmers have been able to learn a lot in recent years and many useful projects have been implemented, such as equipping schools and playgrounds.
- Production
The fruits of the cocoa tree are harvested by hand. The cocoa beans are then removed from the fruit and fermented, losing their bitterness in the process. Now the beans are gently dried, during which the polyphenols that determine the taste and the brown color are formed. Cocoa butter is obtained by cold-pressing the raw, peeled (skinned) cocoa beans. Before they are pressed, the beans are sorted very carefully and sorted several times. The harvest, drying and processing takes place under high hygiene standards and with great care.

When we arrive in Austria, the cocoa butter drops are pressure treated and checked by us as standard. When it comes to printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.

Cocoa butter is the fat found in the cocoa beans. By pressing the whole cocoa beans, the fat comes out. The cocoa butter is therefore 100% vegan. It has a slightly sweet cocoa scent and taste. The color varies from a paler to lighter shade of yellow. The melting point is quite low and is between 30 and 38 degrees.
