- In the rubber industry, derivatives of stearic acid are used in the mixture of substances that are added to rubber to control flexibility or other properties of the final product.
- Some stearates are used by the polymer industry, as lubricants, anti-static agents and mold releasing agents.
- Stearic acid used in the fabrication of candles, improves appearance, luminosity, durability, and unmolding.
- In crayons, it gives better dispersion of ink, better absorption and retention on paper, among others.
