Hexamethylenetetramine is produced at two facilities, using following synthesis methods:
Gas-phase method: contact conversion of methanol to formaldehyde on a pumice-silver catalyst with further interaction of formaldehyde with gaseous ammonia made under vacuum;
Gas-liquid phase: reaction of ammonia with formaldehyde. Evaporated to a gaseous state liquid ammonia is used as raw material, as well as concentrated formalin with low methanol content
