Conventional or organic available Eucalyptus olida, also known as the Strawberry Gum, is a medium-sized tree to 20 m, restricted tosclerophyll woodlands on the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales, in Eastern Australia. The bark is fibrous in mature trees. Flowers are cream colored and are followed by small woody capsules. The juvenile leaves are ovate (7 cm long) and dull green. Adult leaves are lanceolate and glossy green (to 17 cm). The leaves are intensely aromatic and are used as a bushfood spice. E.olida is classified as a threatened species in the wild, but is becoming more common in cultivation due to itsessential oil and spice qualities. E. olida leaf is also used as a dried spice product in bushfood cooking, especially with fruit and in herbal teas. It has high anti-oxidant activity. Allspice, also known as Jamaica Pepper or Pimento, is a large evergreen tree that features fragrant bark, leaves, flowers and berries. It is native to the West Indies, Caribbean and Central and South America. It is now grown commercially in Jamaica, Mexico and Trinidad amongst others. The oil comes in two varieties, Allspice Leaf and Allspice Berry, both steam distilled. Allspice Berry Oil has a lower Eugenol content than the leaf oil. It is the more expensive of the two oils, and is considered a safer oil due to its lower Eugenol content, and has a more pleasant aroma. With a yellow to brown color and a warm, sweet yet spicy aroma, it is similar in smell to clove and cinnamon, and reminiscent of fall/winter. It has antifungal and antiseptic qualities, and the aroma compliments masculine fragrances.

Tarragon which is known scientifically as Artemisia dracunculus is a perennial herb belonging to the same family as the sunflower. It grows wild in many parts of North America, Europe and Central Asia but is cultivated as a popular culinary and medicinal herb in many other parts of the world. Other common names for the herb are estragon and dragon wort. Artemisia dracunculus var. sativa, a sub-species of tarragon is widely cultivated for its leaves which are used primarily as an aromatic cooking herb. Other sub-species lack the familiar, strong aroma. The various sub-species also go by less formal names. French tarragon is considered to be the best for cooking while Russian tarragon is regarded as superior to wild tarragon. It is believed that dates back to 3500 years before Christ the use of this type of herbs in its most concentrated form, that is, in essential oils, in whose content infinite properties can be achieved, given by more than 100 aromatic molecules found in their pure state and in various proportions which generates beneficial effects for health.

With an uplifting, delicious, citrus aroma, Grapefruit is a stimulating, energizing oil with many uses and benefits. The oil is cold pressed from the peel of the fruit. It is known for its high limonene content. The oil is great in skin care and hair products. It is good for skin and useful in combatting acne. It has powerful cleansing properties and is helpful for the hair and scalp. It is also used as an ingredient in perfumes and men’s care products and fragrances. Grapefruit Oil comes in White or Pink. They are simply different varieties of the same plant. The difference is in the color of the fruit, the chemistry is similar and the differences are minimal, but more Pink Grapefruit Oil is produced.

Arnica comes from a perennial plant scientifically known as arnica montana. You may also find it called other names including wolf’s bane, leopard's bane, mountain daisy, mountain tobacco and mountain arnica. Found in the mountainous areas of Europe and North America, the plant produces yellow, daisy-like flowers. Arnica is a herb that grows mainly in Siberia and central Europe, as well as temperate climates in North America. The flowers of the plant are used in medicine. Arnica is most commonly used for pain caused by osteoarthritis, sore throat, surgery, and other conditions. Arnica is also used for bleeding, bruising, swelling after surgery, and other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. Arnica can also be unsafe when taken by mouth. In manufacturing, arnica is used in hair tonics and anti-dandruff preparations. The oil is used in perfumes and cosmetics.

Mimosa Absolute also known as Silver Wattle and Blue Wattle, is extracted from the fuzzy yellow blossoms of Acacia dealbata plant, native to Australia. With its sweet, floral and slightly woody aroma, Mimosa Absolute Oil is a perfumery must-have and an unanimous favorite of aromatherapists and perfumers alike. It has a relatively widespread natural distribution in south-eastern Australia. It is native to most of eastern New South Wales, the ACT and most of Victoria (in mainland Australia it is most common near the Great Dividing Range from the Ben Lomond Range in northern New South Wales to the Grampians in western Victoria). It is also widespread and common throughout Tasmania. There are approximately 1,300 Acacia species worldwide with 1,000 native to Australia. The Mimosa flowers are harvested in March and April when they are in full bloom the absolute is a thick, yellow sticky consistency. With a beautiful floral, fruity note.

Peppermint Gum, was initially found around the Blue Mountains and then west through the Great Dividing Range and south along the range into Victoria, as far as Ballarat. In its optimal situation this Eucalypt can reach up to 20 meters in height. The Peppermint Gum (Eucalyptus dives) tree has been harvested and distilled for over 100 years. Early settlers took advantage of the tree leaves for colds, coughs, flu. The oil was a significant source of menthol and thymol. The leaves and branchlets are harvested and steam distilled and the oil has a peppermint, spicy, fresh, invigorating Eucalyptus aroma. The santalum spictatum is a tree native to semi-arid areas at the edge of Southwest Australia and it is one of four species of the family Santalaceae to occur in Western Australia. Normally a shrubby to small tree, it can grow up to 6 meters and is tolerant of drought and salt. The foliage is gray-green in color. The fruit is spherical, about 3 cm in diameter and is orange. The oil from this amazing tree is proving very popular and more commercially viable than the Indian Sandalwood. To ensure sustainable existence for the natural sandalwood resources, timber harvesting has been regulated since 1920 by the Western Australian Sandalwood Control Act (1929). Plantations were established to renew the tree populations and essential oil production comes only from these managed sources. The trunk and roots of Australian sandalwood are stripped of bark and distilled for their essential oil. Its sweet, woody character with spicy accents is similar to the fragrance of Indian sandalwood (Santalum album), but the rawer, earthy dimension makes it an original and distinct material. The oils produced by the tree contain a greater complexity of chemicals, many of which have antimicrobial qualities. Sandalwood oil is widely known for being a spiritual, sacred oil, used around the world during practices of prayer and meditation. It is well known in Australian Indigenous circles, and traditional Aboriginal uses include making of implements/artifacts and for medicinal purposes and the seeds/fruits were eaten.

Cananga (Cananga odorata var macrophylla)is closely related to Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata var genuine). The oils are quite similar, as the plants are from the same genus and species. Cananga has a beautiful but more subtle floral aroma than Ylang Ylang and has a more woody note. They have slightly different chemical compositions. Cananga has higher amounts of beta-caryophyllene. It is a soothing and calming oil. It has a middle/base note. Canaga oil is highly prized in the perfume industry and is a favorite in cosmetic products. The Cananga tree is native to Indonesia, Malaysia and The Philippines. The oil is produced from the steam distillation its yellow flowers. The flowers are picked early in the morning to ensure maximum oil yield.

Conventional or organic available Clove Bud Oil comes from the aromatic dried flower bud of the Clove tree (Syzygium aromaticum), which originated in the Maluku Islands of Indonesia. Clove as a spice is well known and has been used for centuries in trade between nations as a valuable commodity along with other spices and herbs. Conventional or organic available Rosemary is an aromatic, evergreen shrub with needle-like leaves and white, pink, purple, or blue flowers that belongs to the mint family. The plant flowers in spring and summer in temperate climates, but the plants can be in constant bloom in warm climates. The leaves are frequently used to flavor foods and the oil is of great use and highly beneficial as well. Conventional or organic available A versatile and often underrated oil, Cajeput oil has many applications. It has an uplifting, clean fragrance with antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. A member of the Melaleuca family, Cajeput oil is steam distilled from the leaves and lateral branches of the Melaleuca Leucadendron Cajuputi. The name Cajeput derives from the Malaysian word ‘kayu-putih’ meaning white wood. The tree is highly regarded in the east and has many therapeutic and herbal uses, and was widely used by Indigenous Australians in traditional medicine including the treatment of aching joints and respiratory issues.

Conventional or organic available Orange Oil or Orange Sweet Oil is a versatile oil with a refreshing, sweet citrus aroma. This popular oil is uplifting and energizing. Oranges are believed native to the tropical regions of Asia, especially the Malay Archipelago. Orange probably spread from its native habitat to India and the east coast of Africa and from there to the eastern Mediterranean region by the Roman conquests, who developed the Arab trade routes. By the time Christopher Columbus sailed, orange trees were common in the Canary Islands. Today oranges are cultivated in subtropical and tropical America, northern and eastern Mediterranean countries, Australia, and South Africa. Orange plants arrived in Australia along with the early convicts and still thrive in all States and the Northern Territory. Orange Sweet oil is extracted from the fresh fruit peel by cold expression. Orange blends well with Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Cedarwood, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Myrrh, Neroli, Pettigrain, Rose, Rosewood, Rose Geranium, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Lemon, Clove, Cinnamon and Nutmeg.

Conventional or organic available A balancing and grounding oil, this oil is produced by the steam distillation of the dried seeds of the common carrot. The oil is a yellow or amber color to pale orange/brown and has a woodsy, earthy fragrance. A nourishing oil, it is rich in beta carotene, Vitamins A and E and pro-vitamin A - it is a popular oil, particularly in the realm of skincare.

Agonis Fragrans is a relatively new oil from Australia. It was first introduced to aromatherapists in 2006. Agonis Fragrans or Coarse Tea Tree is found on the South Coast of Western Australia. The plant is a small shrub with fragrant white foliage. Agonis fragrans belongs to the Myrtaceae family. It is a small lignotuberous shrub growing up to 2.5 meters. The aroma of Agonis Fragrans is clean, refreshing, delicately camphoraceous with a hint of citrus and a balsamic undertone. It blends well with most other essential oils. Agonis Fragrans is a safe, non-toxic essential oil and is safe for use with children and the elderly. Agonis Fragrans essential oil is extracted via steam distillation of the stems and branches.

Elemi oil is a valued ingredient in the cosmetic industry, with the oil being popular in skin care for its regenerative properties.

Conventional or organic available Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin), sometimes called the scent of the sixties, has a musky, earthy, exotic aroma. Native to Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, Patchouli is now cultivated in tropical and sub-tropical regions around the world. The oil is widely used as a fragrance in India and as an insect repellent. Patchouli is used in herbal medicine in Asia as an aphrodisiac, antidepressant and antiseptic. It is also used for headaches and fever. Its aphrodisiac effects come from it having a very similar molecular structure to human pheromones. Patchouli essential oil is often used in aromatherapy to treat skin complaints. It is thought to have a regenerative effect on skin tone and to help clear conditions such as eczema and acne. The oil may also be used for varicose veins, acne, cold sores, skin irritations, prophylactic, fungicidal and hemorrhoids. Boronia megastigma grows to less than a meter. It has small leaves and small cup-shaped flowers, which occur in spring. The plant is quite striking in that the flowers are bright yellow inside whilst the exterior is an interesting red-brown color. The plant is traditionally found in south west WA between Albany and Perth Plant flowers in spring and is harvested when 80% of buds are open. Flowers are combed off the plants by hand or machine. This precious absolute is made by solvent extraction of the flowers of the Hyacinthus orientalis, a small, herbaceous perennial plant, that flowers in early spring. The bell shaped flowers can be pink, purple to white and the plant is primarily native to the Mediterranean region and tropical Africa. The absolute is extremely precious due to the limited cultivation window of the flowers, and the low yield per flower. Hyacinth Absolute is a valuable ingredient in the perfume industry, and as a fragrant component in products. This refreshing and invigorating absolute also has antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties and is considered calming, balancing and comforting.

Honey Myrtle (Melaleuca teretifolia) is a unique species from Western Australian. Its essential oil is rich in citral (typically 70 – 85%). This essential oil has a beautiful fresh, sweet lemon fragrance with soft citrus undertones with a hint of honey notes coming through. It presents a pleasant and surprising complexity not usually associated with the more traditional lemon-scented essential oils.

Australian Blue Cypress is native to Australia and grows in the Northern Territory (including Melville & Bathurst Islands), northern Western Australia, Cape York and northeast Queensland. It is a medium to large sized tree, from 15 to 45 meters in height. The timber is very aromatic, resistant to termites and splits quite readily into fine chips or kindling for lighting cooking fires. Australian Blue Cypress essential oil is extracted via steam distillation of the stem and branches. The trees are harvested and are then steam distilled for around 48 hours. The harvesting of quite big trees requires heavy machinery and a long distillation process which both add significantly to the cost of the oil. Resinous compounds in the bark react during distillation with other aromatic compounds to create guaiazulene, an anti-inflammatory compound similar to chamazulene that gives the essential oil its dark blue color.

A warming, stimulating oil, Pink Peppercorn is steam distilled from the fruit of the Schinus mole. This popular spice was considered sacred to the ancient Incas and has been used in traditional medicine for hundreds of years. Pink Peppercorn (Schinus molle), also known as the Peruvian peppertree, peppercorn tree and Californian pepper tree is a member of the Anacardiaceae family. It’s an evergreen tree that grows up to 9 meters in height by 7 meters in width. It is native to the Peruvian Andes. Chains of cream flowers appear at the end of the branches in summer followed by peppercorns, which turn pink in autumn and are referred to as ‘pink peppercorns’ although they are not true peppercorns. Pink peppercorns have a citrus flavor and are much more fragrant. Shinus molle grows wild throughout most of Australia in a range of habitats from grasslands to dry open forest and coastal areas. The branches tend to droop which gives the tree a weeping effect. It is found as a bush in dry lands but reaches tree size in dry river beds with accessible underground water. It is an evergreen that has a graceful fern like foliage. This tree grows well in the sun and is drought tolerant so can still flourish with only occasional watering. All parts of the tree have high oil and essential oil contents that produce a spicy, aromatic scent.

Cedarwood Virginia (Juniperus virginiana) is native to the Eastern USA and Canada. Also known as Red Cedar and or Eastern Red Cedar, it thrives in high altitudes growing to about 100 feet. The aroma is grounding evoking a feeling of vitality and health. This species has been used for numerous issues, including applications for the skin for wounds, skin rashes, hair loss, eczema, acne, warts, fungal skin infections, and hemorrhoids. It can also be rubbed onto joints for rheumatism, and onto the chest for asthma. Eastern red cedar is also used as a fragrance for soaps, perfumes, and cosmetics.

Cold pressed from the peel of the Citrus Juno, this beautiful uplifting oil has a delightful, fresh, citrus aroma. The Yuzu is an east Asian fruit that resembles a small bumpy orange or grapefruit. Yuzu oil has been used in Japanese culture for centuries for its therapeutic properties and fresh aroma. Being high in antioxidants such as Vitamin C and limonene, this oil possesses anti-inflammatory properties and is a valued addition to skin care products. It helps support respiratory health and is antibacterial. Yuzu fruit is mainly cultivated in Japan, Korea and China and has been used in Asian cooking for hundreds of years.Its zest and juice are widely used for flavoring everything from spicy sauces to liqueurs and marmalades. It is also used in high-end perfumes. In Japan, Yuzu represents new beginnings and vibrant health. The fruit is traditionally used in a hot bath on the winter solstice, to help warm the body, ward off winter ills, calm the mind and help people feel inspired for the future. The oil is not produced in high quantities, so it may be a little more expensive than other citrus oils.

Pine oil is derived from the needles of the Pinus sylvestris. It has a familiar, fresh aroma and is known for its cleansing properties. It is antibacterial, stimulating, cleansing and invigorating. The oil is used in soaps, cosmetics, perfumes and a range of household products.

Conventional or organic available Blue Tansy oil is steam distilled from the yellow flowers buds and aerial parts of the Tanacetum Annuum, a herb native to the Mediterranean. The oil has a high content of chamazulene which gives it its rich blue color. This oil belongs to the same family as the chamomiles and is sometimes referred to as Moroccan Blue Chamomile. Such was its popularity, it was almost harvested out of existence, but has been revived and is being grown in places such as Morocco where it is now thriving. It is a calming oil, with antifungal, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Conventional or organic available Native to the southern European and Mediterranean regions, the Sage herb was highly valued in both the ancient Greek and Roman societies, which considered it to be sacred. For centuries it has been believed that Sage had the ability to grant a longer life, and in China, it was traditionally used as a remedy for addressing infertility and symptoms of menopause. According to historical records, in some communities, the Sage herb also had culinary applications and was used as a preservative for foods such as meats. In the Middle Ages, Sage earned the nickname “Sage the Savior” for its various treasured properties. For its cleansing and nerve tonic properties, the Lakota Indians nicknamed it “master herb.”

Conventional or organic available Varieties Available: Cinnamon Bark Oil and Cinnamon Leaf Oil Cinnamon is thought to be one of the world’s oldest and most valuable spices. It has been used for thousands of years, and features prominently in Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. Cinnamon is derived from a tropical, evergreen tree that can grow over 12 meters tall. Cinnamon oil has a very distinct, fresh aroma and contains primarily cinnamaldehyde and eugenol, which give both varieties their distinct aroma and their antifungal, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. The leaf oil is easier to produce, as the leaves are easier to distill and extract the oil from and have a higher yield than the bark. Avoid use on sensitive skins. Pregnant women should avoid the use of this oil.

There are two different varieties of chamomile you may come across; Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile or Anthemis nobilis) and German chamomile (Matricaria recutita or Chamomilla recutita) The two plants are slightly different in appearance. In addition, the chemical composition of their active ingredients differs slightly. Research has been done on both strains and the active ingredient most researched is chamazulene which is higher in German chamomile. German Chamomile (Matricaria recutica) is native to central and northern Europe. The herb usually grows near populated areas; it is annual, strongly aromatic, and has tall, hairless, erect, branching stems, with delicate feathery leaves and simple daisy-like white flowers on single stems. The flowers are smaller than those of Roman Chamomile. Matricaria Recutita Flower Oil is the essential oil distilled from the flowers of the plant which are dried prior to distillation. Although commonly known as 'German Chamomile Oil' it is in fact not grown in Germany, but in years past, large volumes grown in Hungary were sent to Germany for distillation.

Eucalyptus citriodora is a tall tree, growing up to 40 meters in height (but sometimes taller), from temperate and tropical north eastern Australia. It is one of the most popular eucalyptus trees grown throughout Melbourne in Australia, which is its native country. This species is believed to have originated from a restricted area of Queensland on the Tropic of Capricorn, and is now found growing throughout the world’s tropical climates. It is also known as lemon-scented gum, blue spotted gum, lemon eucalyptus. It has smooth, pale, uniform or slightly mottled bark, white to coppery in summer, and a conspicuously narrow-leaved crown which smells strongly of lemons. Pear-shaped buds are borne in clusters of three, formed in the corner of leaf and stem junctions, whilst fruit (capsules) are urn-shaped. The bark is smooth for the entire height of the tree, often powdery shedding in thin curling flakes. It prefers lighter, slightly acidic loamy soils and occurs in dry sclerophyll forest and woodlands in hilly country. All species of eucalyptus leaves have been used in traditional Aboriginal bush medicine for thousands of years. Infusions made of E. citriodora leaves were taken internally to reduce fevers and ease gastric conditions, and applied externally as a wash for the analgesic, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Aborigines would make leaves into a poultice and apply them to ease joint pain and speed up the healing of cuts, skin conditions, wounds and infections. Respiratory infections, colds and sinus congestion were treated by inhaling the vapors of steamed leaves, and to treat rheumatism the leaves were made into beds or used in steam pits heated by fire. The therapeutic qualities of the leaves and its essential oil were eventually introduced and integrated into many traditional medicine systems, including Chinese, Indian Ayurvedic and Greco-European. Conventional or organic available With a warm, herbaceous and woody aroma, Marjoram is a comforting and calming oil with a positive effect on the nervous system. It is derived from a tender, bushy perennial herb with wooly, hairy leaves which grows up to 60cm high. Origanum majorana is native to the Mediterranean region and is cultivated in France, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany and Poland. Marjoram Oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowing tops of Origanum majorana. It is a pale yellow to greenish yellow colored mobile liquid, with a middle perfumery note and a warm-spicy odor.

Eremophila mitchellii, known commonly as Buddha wood or false sandalwood, is a shrub or small tree native to Australia. Other common names include budda, sandalbox, and rosewood belvory. Buddha Wood is native to a variety of habitats in northern NSW and Queensland and is characterized for their drought, fire, frost and grazing tolerances. This species grows as a multi-stemmed shrub or small tree up to 10 meters in height with flaky bark. The leaves are linear to linear-lancelote and range between 2 and 6 cm in length and about 3 to 7 mm wide. It has white (occasionally pale pinkish-mauve), which occur in the spring, and to a lesser extent, in the autumn. Historically Buddha Wood has been used over the centuries by Australian indigenous people for its medicinal and cultural purposes. Traditionally indigenous people would use this plant for its anti-bacterial qualities to treat sores and cuts. It was also used both internally and externally as a decongestant, expectorant and analgesic. The leaves were also used to treat headaches and ease rheumatism.
