Applications & Uses

I&I Cleaning Applications
Application Details
  • Add the emulsion slowly to the solution with good agitation, preferably as the last ingredient prior to neutralization. Dilution of the Alcogum® SL 920 with water can facilitate incorporation in viscous and/or alkaline formulations.
  • Optimum viscosity build occurs at or above pH 8. For consistent performance avoid partial neutralization and poor mixing. 0.219 parts Ammonium Hydroxide (28% ) to 1.0 part Alcogum® SL 920 (as received)0.130 parts Sodium Hydroxide (50%) to 1.0 part Alcogum® SL 920 (as received) High efficiency rheology modifier, surfactant synergy.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • ALCOGUM SL 920 is available in bulk, intermediate bulk and 55-gallon drums. Storage tanks should be plastic, fiberglass, or 316 stainless.
  • Pumps should be low-shear type, such as diaphragm or peristaltic type with all wetted parts and lines being stainless steel, plastic or Teflon . Mild steel, copper, brass and aluminum should not be used.
  • Filtering should be under low shear and volume flow conditions. Freezing should be avoided as it destabilizes the emulsion. The recommended storage temperature is 5-50°C (40-120°F). Dilution or pH adjustment of the product may require additional preservative to prevent biological growth.
  • Keep containers tightly sealed to the prevent emulsion from air drying and forming a film.
