Technical Details & Test Data
- Performance Tests
1. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration for Antibacterial Activity
- The minimum inhibitory concentration of CATION DDC-50 required to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. These measurement values were obtained by using this product only .These values may vary if other ingredients are added.
2. Antibacterial Activity in Comparison with Benzalkonium Chloride
- CATION DDC-50 displays 2 to 4 times the antibacterial activity, fungus resistance and algicidal activity of a typical cationic surfactant, benzalkonium chloride. Also, as the results of the hard-water tolerance test using Escherichia coli show, compared to the benzalkonium chloride, this product exhibits excellent antibacterial activity even in 3 times the concentration of hard water.
3. Wood Preservation
- Antiseptic effects of CATION DDC-50 and CCA (copper, chrome and arsenic type wood preservatives) on woods. This product is applicable as a safer wood preservative because it is considered to have lower toxicity than CCA does.
4. Physical-Chemical Properties
- CATION DDC-50, a cationic surfactant, exhibits excellent surface activities such as micelle-formation ability, surface tension lowering property, foaming property and detergency equal to other anionic and nonionic surfactants.
5. Safety Data: Primary Skin Irritation
- The primary skin irritation test results of CATION DDC-50 for guinea pigs. This product is normally used at the concentration raging between 100 and 5000 wt ppm, as an active ingredient. These measurement values were obtained by using this product only, therefore these values may vary if other ingredients are added or the conditions of use are changed
