- The harmful effects of excessive use of ordinary salt or sodium chloride in our diet are well known. Excessive consumption is a reality among the general population in most countries of the world. Studies on hypertension show the relationship that exists between high daily intake of ordinary salt or sodium chloride and the high index of coronary diseases triggered by hypertension problems.
