- Application Method
- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Approved Substrates
- Structural Roof Decking: concrete, gypsum, cemetitious wood fiber (tectum).
- Base sheets.
- Approved insulations (multi-layer applications).
- Smooth built-up roof surfaces (recover applications).
- Primed concrete or masonry foundations.
- Approved Insulations
Insulation Type Min. Thickness (Inches) HD Wood Fiber (Coated 5 Sides) 25/32 Isocyanurate 1.2 Fiberglass 3/4 Perlite 3/4 Styrofoam 1/2 Note:
- Not recommended for insulation boards larger than 4’x4’.
- Application & Uses
- Ready to apply.
- Do not heat.
- Do not thin.
- Keep the container covered when not in use for the formation of skin.
- During application a wet cloth draped over the open container will assist in preventing rapid skin over.
- Surface Preparation
- All work surfaces must be clean, dry, free of dirt, dust, debris, oils, loose and/or embedded gravel, un-adhered coatings, deteriorated membranes, biological growth (mold, mildew, fungus, algae and moss), and other contaminants that may result in a surface that is not sound.
- On recovery work, to ensure a properly prepared surface use MAST&R Cleanse AR to clean substrate prior to application of QuikBond.
- Application Directions
- Apply QuikBond directly to the properly prepared substrate using a notched squeegee or multi-port adhesive applicator, achieving ½” - ¾” beads equally spaced from one another.
- Within 10 minutes of application, place insulation boards into the adhesive.
- Do not slide the board across the adhesive.
- Do not allow the adhesive to skin over or step each board into place to ensure contact with the adhesive.
- Substrates with irregular surfaces may prevent the adhesive from making and/or maintaining positive contact with the adhesive.
- Temporary weight or relief cuts may be required to ensure adequate contact.
