Ammonium sulfate is easily soluble in water 38% solution is largely used as a liquid or mixed fertilizer. Ammonium sulfate is prepared commercially by reacting ammonia with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) with further recrystallization. Ammonium sulfate is often received as a co-product of cyclohexanoxime synthesis by a Beckmann rearrangement during caprolactam production.
