Deltech para-Methylstyrene (PMS) is recommended for evaluation as a replacement for vinyltoluene and styrene monomers. It shares similar chemical properties and polymerization behavior with both vinyltoluene and styrene. When used as a partial or complete replacement for styrene monomer in unsaturated polyester resin applications, polymerized resin products exhibit lower vapor pressure at any temperature and a higher flashpoint. Deltech para-tertiary-butyl Styrene (TBS) is a versatile substitute for styrene monomer, offering improved properties and fewer handling restrictions. Deltech Vinyl Toluene (VT) is a mixture of methylstyrene isomers, with approximately 55% meta and 45% para isomer distribution. This reactive monomer readily polymerizes to form a high-clarity, colorless polymer with excellent electrical and physical properties. In many applications, VT demonstrates superior properties compared to styrene monomer.

Deltech Divinylbenzene 80% (DVB80) is an extremely reactive monomer. It appears as a clear to slightly hazy amber liquid and has an odor characteristic of aromatic hydrocarbons. Special care is needed with DVB80, as heat-initiated free radical polymerization can easily occur, making the monomer molecule unstable when heated. To prevent premature free radical polymerization, it is treated with tertiary Butyl Catechol (TBC) as an inhibitor. Viscoat #190 (EOEOEA, EEEA, CBA) is famous polar acrylate but our EEEA called V#190 has different properties compared with other company’s products. Our V#190 is highly distillated, so that it has very low viscosity and color, and no difunctional impurities derived from polyethylene glycol. Our competitors’ product have relatively higher viscosity, higher color, and cannot be a comonomer for acrylic copolymer. Recently, very low volatiles during UV radiation properties are reported [1]. So if you use our products, you can cut down on the frequency of UV lamp maintenance and the work environment will improve because the volatiles will be reduced. V#190 is suitable for adhesives because it has low Tg and high elongation properties along with a polar nature (enough polarity to aid in adhesion, but still an effective diluent for non-polar resins).

Viscoat #155 (CHA) has a simple structure. Cycloalkyl structure induces weatherability with low viscosity, good compatibility and lower shrinkage. As compared with isobornyl acrylate, its viscosity is very low. CHA has relatively higher Tg than other acrylic monomers. Sometimes CHA is used for photoresist because it is easy to hydrolysis because cyclohexanol is secondary alcohol.

MEDOL-10 has a novel unique structure. It was developed for replacement of THFA, tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate. MEDOL-10 only has exclamation pictogram on REACH. Its viscosity is low enough for many applications like UV inkjet ink. Some of paper said high polarity pendant group induces high curing speed [1]. Dioxolane structure induces high solvency as same as THFA because both THF and dioxolane are good solvent.

HPA is one of the reasonable hydroxyalkyl acrylates like HEA. It is second choice for crosslinking site of acrylic resin of paintings, adhesives, inks etc. HPA is also useful to control Hydrophilicity and adhesiveness to polar substrate because of it polar hydroxyalkyl moiety. HPA has low di-ester because the reactivity of secondary hydroxyl group is lower than primary hydroxyl group.

HEA is the most reasonable hydroxyalkyl acrylate. It is first choice for crosslinking site of acrylic resin of paintings, adhesives, inks etc. HEA is also useful to control Hydrophilicity and adhesion to polar substrate because of it polar hydroxyalkyl moiety. Our HEA has lower Di-ester impurities than any other companies. It is useful for many industries who want to control cross-linking side reaction. Be careful handling HEA because it has toxicity, corrosivity, mutagenicity because of its fundamental reactivity. We also have lower toxic hydroxyalkyl acrylate, 4-HBA (4-hydroxybutyl acrylate).

Viscoat #216 (BACA) is a urethane mono-functional acrylate. It has higher purity than our competitors’ product. Due to high purity, it has lower viscosity as UV diluent, and it can form linear copolymer as usual distillated mono-functional acrylate. Users can make better shelf life product due to absence of multi-functional impurities. You can design a polymer that has very high polarity pendant group.

OXE-10 have different two polymerization moieties, radical and cationic polymerization moieties. OXE-10 is an acrylate analog. We can make cationic polymerizerable acrylic resin. It is well known that oxetane group has lower reactivity than epoxy group, however, we can use slight amount of epoxy group to accelerate of polymerization of oxetane group because its slowest step is ring opening reaction. We cannot offer glycidyl acrylate due to too much toxicity, so that OXE-10 is a one of the simplest structure for UV/cationic dual cure system.

MPE550A are poly(EO) mono-ether mono-acrylates. Basically this structures tend to have diester impurities because its raw material, methoxy poly(EO) tends to have polyethyleneglycol impurities, however, we are controlling diesters’ content for resin/adhesive manufactures. You can put this very high polar moiety into your copolymers easily. MPE400A has shorter poly(EO) chain than MPE550A.

V#192HP is a highly purified ester of phenoxyethanol and acrylic acid. V#192HP is used for UV diluent inks for the same reason. Generally, aromatic moiety gives tough films with excellent solvent resistance but the adhesion may not be as good as the aliphatic cyclic monomers, but adhesion property of V#192HP is relatively better in the aromatic monofunctional acrylate group [1]. V#192HP is also used for adhesives because of good compatibility and adhesion properties. Sometimes its raw material, phenoxyethanol is considered as Endocrine Disruptors, however, our highly distilled products has really limited amount of it.

ISTA from Osaka Organic Chemical is highly purified by distillation. It has highly branched bulky pendant group. Because of this structure, it has low polarity, low permittivity, high Tg, low surface tension, high dispersive power and high anti-hydrolysis properties. Main application is adhesives to control Tg, surface tension, permittivity and slippage properties. ISTA is also highly distilled even though it has high molecular weight. It has the lowest acrylic equivalent monomer in the distilled monomer We can handle ISTA easily because it is liquid product compared with linier stearyl acrylate, a solid acrylate.

V-4F is registered in many countries.It has fluorine properties like water / oil repellency, low surface tension, low RI, and low gas transparency. This Product is not applicable PFOA / PFOS problem due to shorter alkyl chain so far. Please be aware these monomers are easy to volatile because F atoms induce weak intermolecular interaction. Recently these materials are studied specialty application like living radical polymerization, oligomer for nano-imprint photolithography, and synthetic opal.
