500gsm Unidirectional Glass Fabric, also known as EUD, or simply UD, is compatible with polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy resin systems. This heavy UD glass is ideal for structural reinforcement of highly loaded composite beams. Available in 1.3m wide and slit into narrower tapes.

As a result this product exhibits excellent feeding properties with very low fuzz generation.

Zoltek has developed a new product and sizing chemistry for use in vinyl ester resin systems. Introducing Zoltek’s PX35 Vinyl Ester Compatible Tow product. This new product, based on our proprietary sizing chemistry, exhibits excellent adhesion to and compatibility with vinyl ester resin systems. Most carbon fiber products are used to reinforce epoxy resin systems. Recently, the demand has grown for a product and sizing chemistry that can be used in vinyl ester resins whether cured thermally or via room temperature infusion. When compared to Zoltek’s standard carbon fiber product, PX35 Epoxy Compatible Tow, the new vinyl ester compatible product has significantly higher interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) and transverse flexural strength TFS, which both measure and indicate fiber to resin matrix compatibility and adhesion, as well as, composite performance. Zoltek’s PX35 Vinyl Ester Compatible Continuous Carbon Fiber is manufactured from a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor fiber. 3B Fiberglass DS 1135-10N is designed to reinforce a broad range of polyamide resins, including PA6, PA66, PA610, PA6/66 copolymers and semi-aromatic PA. The product has been developed in order to help reinforced plastics to meet the requirements of the most common food contact and drinkable water norms (FDA, EC 10/2011, BfR and ACS).Its chemistry presents an excellent compatibility with flame retardant additives and impact modifiers.The performance in hydrolysis/glycolysis resistance is also very good.Therefore, the fiber is enhancing dry-as-molded and long-term properties, in a large range of natural and colored formulations.Finally, DS1135-10N is a multi-compatible chopped strand PA, with excellent strand integrity and bulk density.
