Damask rose is assumed that it is a hybrid between Rosa gallica and Rose Moschata in Asia and propagated through Syria, Fareastern Asia and to Europe. It has elegant scent, so it has been traditionally and widely used as ingredients for fragrance and cosmetic bath. Petals contain much more vitamin C than lemon or orange and also phenolic compouds such as quercetin and kaempferol. As a result, it effectively removes free radical and ROS. What's more, it is studied that damask rose also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect.
