Perlast® perfluoroelastomer grades provide other properties which prove most valuable in critical sealing applications where purity, high temperatures and retention of sealing force are paramount. The Perlast® range of perfluoroelastomer materials are at the leading edge of polymer technology. Polyphenylensulfone is an amorphous material, with improved impact and hydrolysis resistance compared to PSU. This amber-colored, transparent material is usually used in a black color, which is why we only offer it in this color version so far. The usual operating temperature is approx. +170 °C. The extremely high notch impact strength remains also after a heat aging.

LiNNOTAM stands for: Licharz iNNOvation in LacTAM and includes all polyamides manufactured by Licharz in the monomer casting process from caprolactam or laurolactam . Due to its balanced mechanical properties and excellent machinability, LiNNOTAM is particularly suitable as a construction material for machine and plant construction.

Due to its good thermal and mechanical properties, this semi-crystalline material belongs to the polymer group of engineering plastics. In addition to its high strength, hardness and toughness, it has a high heat deflection temperature of -40 °C to approx. +100 °C. However, the good damping capacity can only be achieved after conditioning, so this material should be re-conditioned after tempering. The material also has good sliding and dry-running properties. Due to the increased moisture absorption behavior in comparison to other polymer materials, possible dimensional changes as well as changes in the mechanical and electrical properties must be taken into account prior to material configuration.

Material & Design Solutions’ (MDS) PEKTRON PEEK is an excellent choice for high temperature, high pressure applications in aggressive chemical environments. These injection molded PEEK compounds have been qualified for use up to 550°F (288°C) and 22,500 psi (0.16 GPa). PEKTRON PEEK high performance thermoplastics offer outstanding chemical resistance and wear properties in a broad spectrum of industries and applications. The injection molded compounds demonstrate excellent resistance to hot water and steam and are unaffected by continuous exposure up to 550°F (288°C).

Material & Design Solutions’ (MDS) Petroz™ perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) is a superior choice for sealing in the most challenging environments. Effective at temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), Petroz compounds have a broad chemical resistance in aggressive chemical environments such as H2S, amine-based (high pH) corrosion inhibitors, organic solvents, and strong acids. These compounds also offer a significantly lower compression set compared to competitive products providing longevity and a more effective sealing solution. Petroz FFKM compounds are designed to operate and excel in high temperature, high pressure, and hostile chemical environments. In addition, Petroz 595 has superior rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistance and has demonstrated excellent RGD resistance in laboratory (ISO 23936-2 and NORSOK M-170) testing. Petroz compounds are totally fluorinated and offer the ultimate chemical resistance required in downhole applications as well as in mechanical seals, pumps, and valves in a variety of industries.

Polyethylene terephthalate is a semi-crystalline material from the polyester family of plastics and, due to its good thermal and mechanical properties, is counted among the polymer group of engineering plastics. It has a high surface hardness and good sliding and wear behavior.

This amber-colored, transparent material belongs to the group of amorphous high-performance plastics. Polysulfone has a good heat deflection temperature and heat aging resistance (-100 °C to +160 °C). In addition, this material has a high hardness and strength, very good hydrolytic stability and high radiation resistance (permeable to microwaves up to 2.45 GHz). PSU also has high dimensional stability and resistance to β- and γ-, X-rays and infrared rays. However, PSU is not UV stable and notch sensitive.
