- General Surface Preparation
The surface to be coated must be dry, clean and free of oil, grease,, release agents curing compounds and foreign material. Remove all, rust mill scale and loose paint before application. Steel: Use abrasive, blast to minimum SSPC-SP6. For best appearance, the primer or, undercoat should be smooth and free of any surface defects. Prime, using an phenolic (50-6017) or epoxy based primer (60-1013). For, galvanized steel: Remove dirt and oil by using a solvent cleaner and, rinse. Prime with a suitable primer before applying urethane coating., For direct to metal use, blast with abrasive to SSPC-SP7 and prime, with a suitable primer. For concrete: Let concrete cure for at least 30, days, use acid etch or use abrasive blast. Prime with epoxy primer., (60-1013).,,/p>
