Safety & Health
- Safety Classification
The classification of soluble silicates in accordance with European standards for dangerous substances depends on their molar ratio n and solids concentration.
According to Regulation EC Nº 1272/2008 can be established:
Lumps and solutions with n > 3.2 y %MS > 40%: are not classified as dangerous.
Lumps and solutions with n > 2.6:
- GHS07 Warning.
- H315 Causes skin irritation.
- H319 Causes serious eye irritation.
Lumps and solutions with 1.6 < n ≤ 2.6
- GHS05 Danger.
- H315 Causes skin irritation.
- H318 Causes serious eye damage.
Solutions with n ≤ 1.6
- GHS05 Danger.
- H290 May be corrosive to metals.
- H314 Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
