Features & Benefits

General Information

Actellic Dust is a fast acting broad spectrum organophosphate insecticide of low mammalian toxicity. It kills insects by contact, ingestion and fumigant action. Actellic Dust controls a range of pests in grain during storage. It may be used to control established pest infestations or used as a protective measure to prevent infestation occurring during storage. Actellic Dust also controls flies in domestic, public and industrial premises, livestock houses and yards.

Symptoms of Poisoning

These may include excessive sweating, headache, weakness, faintness, giddiness, nausea, stomach pains, vomiting, small pupils, blurred vision and muscle twitching.

Spillage

Exclude non-essential people from the area. Wear protective clothing. Moisten to prevent dusting and sweep up. Place in a waste container. Dispose of safely to a suitable landfill.

Directions For Use

It is an offense for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards. It is an offense to use this product on animals.

Resistance Management

GROUPS 1 INSECTICIDE

Actellic Dust contains the organophosphorus compound pirimiphos-methyl. Resistance to this product could develop from excessive use. To minimize this risk, use strictly in accordance with label instructions. Buildings including domestic, industrial, slaughter houses, dairy factories, etc Flies Prepare a bait using equal parts of Actellic Dust and fine sugar. Spread this mixture at a rate of 70 g per square meter Apply in areas where flies congregate. IMPORTANT DO NOT allow dust to contact food, food preparation surfaces or food utensils. Remove or cover all foodstuffs before using Actellic Dust. DO NOT use in areas where dairy or meat products are processed, packed or stored. DO NOT use near air vents or ducts in food stores or processing plants while they are in operation.

Precautions

STORAGE: Keep out of reach of children. Store in the original, tightly closed container, in a cool, dry, well ventilated and secure place away from foodstuffs. Do not store in direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Storage of certain quantities of this product trigger specific storage requirements (Refer to Safety Note). When stored appropriately this product should show no significant degradation for two years from the date of manufacture. Contact your supplier for further information about the use of product that is older than this. PERSONAL PROTECTION: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid inhalation of dust. When handling, mixing or applying, wear overalls, boots, gloves and respirator (organic vapor and particulate matter). Clean protective equipment daily after work. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using. Remove protective clothing and wash hands and face thoroughly before meals and after work. USE: Apply with well maintained and calibrated equipment. See further instructions under ‘Directions for Use’ below. DISPOSAL: Dispose of this product only by using in accordance with this label, or at a suitable landfill. Do not burn. Dispose of packaging to a suitable landfill or agricultural recycling scheme. Do not use container for any other purpose. ENVIRONMENTAL: Use this product carefully. Do not contaminate aquatic environments with product or packaging. Toxic to bees – Do not apply in areas where bees are foraging
