Calfos is the product name for Sonac’s hydroxy-apatite. It is produced from animal bones that have been crushed and degreased. The bone chips are further processed by a heat-and-pressure treatment (110 ºC for 20 min.). The gelatin is removed to a large extent and the remainder is dried and finely ground to improve the digestibility. This is the product named Calfos.

MucoPro 80P is a second generation hydrolyzed porcine peptone product. It is produced from intestinal mucosal tissue that is collected from dedicated West European pig slaughterhouses. This mucosal tissue is enzymatically hydrolyzed in order to extract heparin, that is used in human medicine. In Sonac’s plant in Burgum (NL) the hydrolyzed mucosa undergoes further processing steps like separation, desalination, concentration and spray drying. For improvement of product handling the powder can be granulated (new). Our patented production process delivers a tasty and unique protein product lower in ash and high in free amino acids as well as in di- tri- and tetra peptides. Delfos is the product name for Sonac’s dicalciumphosphate-dihydrate (DCP.2H2O). It is produced from animal bones that have been crushed and degreased. This material is left during 5 days in a HCl solution to dissolve the gelatin and bone phosphate. Gelatin is separated and the remaining phosphate is carefully precipitated by addition of calcium hydroxide: here Delfos is created.
