Carbonwave SeaBalance 2000

SeaBalance 2000 is the world's first seaweed-based cosmetic emulsifier. It delivers performance like that of a synthetic emulsifier while being completely natural. Made from upcycled Sargassum, we prevent 450 kg of CO₂e with each ton of seaweed we use.We work with local communities in Mexico to collect the seaweed as it makes landfall and help minimize the impact on the beaches vital to the local economy. After a gentle process of rinsing and drying, the dried Sargassum pulp is sent to Puerto Rico where our proprietary process lets us extract all valuable components of the seaweed and make SeaBalance. SeaBalance is an award-winning, natural emulsifier that does not compromise on performance. Features & Benefits

Product Highlights
  • SeaBalance is an anionic, broad-spectrum organic emulsifier.
  • It is the world’s first seaweed-based cosmetic emulsifier and is extracted through a non-biotech process of drying, cleaning and treating the Sargassum to isolate solid extract.
  • Exhibits a very efficient, low-use rate that works with a wide range of emollients. It offers a smooth texture with minimal oil.
  • It is suitable for both cold and hot processes. It is a unique and superior alternative to plant-based emulsifiers such as lecithin or beeswax.
  • SeaBalance is recommended for use in cosmetics and skin-care products. It is a natural, PEG-free, non-toxic and COSMOS approved raw material.

Technical Details & Test Data

Technical Information
  • When working with nonpolar emollients, the amount of emulsifier required is normally below 20% of the emollient phase (i.e., <4% emulsifier for 20% oil).
  • When working with polar emollients, the amount of emulsifier required is normally above 20 % of the emollient phase for optimal results.
  • When working with pH below 6, the amount of emulsifier required is normally above 20 % of the emollient phase for optimal results.
  • When formulating, dissolve the emulsifier in your aqueous phase and homogenize the solution for about 3 minutes. Add your emollient to the aqueous mix while under homogenization. Continue homogenization for about 3 minutes.
Versatile Emulsifier

SeaBalance 2000 emulsifies a wide range of oils.
