- The oil extracted from seeds is mainly used as an emollient, hair oil, conditioner and skin softener, in the manufacture of soap, and as a component of lipsticks and lubricants. 1 With very stable properties, this oil is not well known in cosmetics and deserves to be highlighted.
- Native to Africa and South Africa. 1 It is grown in Zimbabwe. This is a thorny, small tree and deciduous shrub. It owes its common name to its fruit, of shape and size similar to a plum.

Ximenia oil contains many fatty acids, some of which contain more than 22 carbon atoms, which is rare in nature. In particular for xymenynic acid, an active antiinflammatory compound that is vasodilator, regulator of sebum and moisturizer for the skin.
