Chemical Family: Polyesters
Polymer Name: Thermoplastic Copolyester Elastomer (TPC-ET)
Hytrel® 4556 is a medium modulus grade with nominal hardness of 45D. It contains non-discoloring stabilizer. It can be processed by many conventional thermoplastic processing techniques like injection molding and extrusion.
Zytel® 70G50HSL NC010
Chemical Family: Polyamides
Polymer Name: Polyamide 66 (PA 66)
Zytel® 70G50HSL NC010 is a 50% Glass Reinforced, Heat Stabilized, Polyamide 66 Common features of Zytel® nylon resin include mechanical and physical properties such as high mechanical strength, excellent balance of stiffness and toughness, good high temperature performance, good electrical and flammability properties, good abrasion and chemical resistance. In addition, Zytel® nylon resins are available in different modified and reinforced grades to create a wide range of products with tailored properties for specific processes and end-uses. Zytel® nylon resin, including most flame retardant grades, offer the ability to be coloured. The good melt stability of Zytel® nylon resin normally enables the recycling of properly handled production waste. If recycling is not possible, DuPont recommends, as the preferred option, incineration with energy recovery (-31kJ/g of base polymer) in appropriately equipped installations. For disposal, local regulations have to be observed. Zytel® nylon resin typically is used in demanding applications in the automotive, furniture, domestic appliances, sporting goods and construction industry.
For manufacturers across a number of industries, Zytel® HTN high-performance polyamide resin is the choice for reducing weight, improving strength, enhancing durability, increasing thermal performance, and simplifying processing. The Zytel® family of products is available in a variety of grades that sustain high strength and stiffness over a wide range of temperatures, chemicals, and moisture exposure. Zytel® HTN is widely used to replace metal parts that must withstand high temperature tolerances (such as engine cooling, handheld devices, and non-halogenated connectors), while reducing cost and weight. In both PPA grades and structural grades, Zytel® HTN solutions enhance performance in a diverse array of applications.
MOLYKOTE Speciality Lubricants
MOLYKOTE® Specialty Lubricants are trusted by engineers, OEMs and product designers worldwide for their ability to meet tough lubrication challenges. From saving energy by reducing friction and wear to improving safety and comfort by reducing NVH, MOLYKOTE® is Smart Lubrication.
DuPont™ Hytrel® TPC-ET thermoplastic elastomer combines the flexibility of rubber with the strength and processability of thermoplastics. Manufacturers prefer parts made with Hytrel® for their resilience, heat and chemical resistance, as well as their strength and durability. Hytrel® drives innovative design, enabling the development of unique parts with multiple performance characteristics. This versatile thermoplastic elastomer resin can flex in multiple directions, cycle after cycle, long after rubber would break. Its durability has made it an essential ingredient in automotive components such as the Constant Velocity Joint (CVJ) boot, which must endure an average of 150,000 miles of pounding over a wide range of temperatures. DuPont™ Hytrel® RS delivers all of the benefits of Hytrel®, yet it contains up to 60 percent renewably sourced materials from biomass, making it an excellent product for applications demanding renewably sourced options
BETASEAL® adhesives have been used to bond stationary glass in vehicles. Today, it is also used to seal and fill gaps in electric vehicle battery packs. BETASEAL® glass bonding systems consist of BETAPRIME® primers, and BETACLEAN® cleaners, and BETASEAL® urethane adhesives to provide a total solution for glass bonding applications. Innovative formulations provide a wide range of mechanical properties to suit all manufacturer requirements and are compatible with all vehicle production processes.
BETAFORCE Composite Bonding Adhesives
For high-performance bonding in lightweight multi-material vehicles, BETAFORCE® composite bonding adhesive enables significant weight reduction, acoustic performance and corrosion protection. Design flexibility is maintained while processing performance and sustainability goals are achieved. BETAFORCE® is an ideal choice for joining carbon fiber and glass fiber composites and other dissimilar materials in a variety of lightweight designs, including modular assemblies. It can be used to bond coated metals like steel to aluminum, carbon fiber panels to steel or aluminum, and sheet molding compound (SMC) to aluminum. Recent formulations of BETAFORCE® offer a cycle time of around one minute and are currently being used for mass series production. Open times can be adjusted to accommodate specific mounting requirements in the plant, such as a quicker curing time by infrared treatment, and the initial adhesion requires no additional fixing tools.
