Vitrolite® is manufactured from naturally occurring amorphous silicates and aluminosilicates and is non-toxic, inert, non-flammable, and does not affect UL approvals. Vitrolite® is suitable for all products including electrical, food contact, and medical devices. It is currently used as a processing additive for molding auto parts, food containers, consumer electronics, toys, wire and cable, pipe and a host of other products.

It is produced from naturally occurring amorphous aluminosilicate deposits and is geographically similar to substances found in tooth polish, food processing applications, personal hygiene products, household cleansers, and cosmetics.
