Benefits & Advantages: Unlike conventional defoamers, TEGO® Antifoam 2460 was specifically developed to avoid premature coagulation.

This allows for less cleaning of the reaction vessel and the demonomerization column while the TEGO® Antifoam 2460 does not hinder the coagulation stage.

Applications: TEGO® Antifoam 2460 is designed for the use as process aid in the water-based polymerization of SBR/ NBR rubber materials.

However, for the defoaming of SBR emulsions as used in adhesives and paper coatings, we rather recommend to use the specialized defoamers TEGO® Antifoam 2290 and 2291.
Handling: TEGO® Antifoam 2460 should be applied as delivered, pre-dilution is not recommended since it does not form stable emulsions without stirring.

If a pre-dilution of TEGO® Antifoam 2460 in water is required, however, we recommend to produce the dilution shortly before application by using an inline mixing device.
Dosage: Since soaps are used in the emulsion step of SBR / NBR rubber manufacturing, a dosage of several thousand ppm (e. g. 0.05 - 0.8 %) of TEGO® Antifoam 2460 is often required.
