MICOROX® 1295 SEALER is a two component 100% solids epoxy sealer designed to offer a high gloss durable coating for concrete and other surfaces.
Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Applications
1295 is used to improve the chemical and abrasion resistance of concrete and other flooring systems. It provides a durable, easily cleaned surface which is resistant to many common industrial chemicals and cleaning agents. When being used without primer, always check adhesion to the prepared surface prior to application. On old and new construction, check vapor transmission rate prior to application. On new concrete surfaces we recommend using a good penetrating primer such as:
- MICOROX® 103 PRIMER: a two-component water reducible epoxy primer.
- Options: MICORTHANETM 9-82 a two part chemically resistant non-yellowing urethane sealer.
Coverage : 150 sq. ft./gallon at 6-10 mils thickness.
- Areas of Application
Commercial, institutional, and light industrial floors. Manufacturing and food service areas. As a binder for colored vinyl flake floors.
- Surface Preparation
- When used as a topcoat for micorox flooring systems: To remove trowel marks and present an even, level surface for 1295 SEALER, use a floor grinder with medium stones and vacuum resulting dust before applying 1295 Sealer.
- When applied as a concrete floor sealer, 1295 SEALER bonds to most existing surfaces with an appropriate primer. Substrate must be exposed by acid-etch or mechanical means for secure bonding. See installation instructions for further details.
- Application
- 1295 SEALER is extremely easy to use. It may be installed by plant personnel or local contractors.
- On concrete surfaces MICOROX® 103 Primer makes an excellent primer. Apply the primer in a very thin, even film with no build up or puddling. Coat after water and co-solvent have evaporated, usually 6 to 8 hours.
- Mix 1295 SEALER by combining one container of resin with one container of hardener. Mix thoroughly with a drill-stirrer.
- Premix components to redisperse any settled fillers or pigments. Materials should be mixed for approximately two minutes. No induction time is required. The material may be applied immediately.
- Note: 15 gallon batches require field measurement. Mixing ratio is 2 resin to 1 hardener by volume.
- Apply the material by squeegee, roller or brush.
- Apply in a thin, even film of 8-10 mils thickness
- If a second coat is being applied, timing iscritical. Allow the first coat to harden. Additional coats should be applied within 24 hours of the initial application.
- Temperature Limitations
During the installation and cure of 1295 SEALER, surface temperatures of 60° F - 90°F are recommended. Do not apply urethane top coat if substrate temperature is below 60° F.
