AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. LUMIFLON® LF710F - FEVE Resin Polyol is a fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) resin designed for weather-resistant, high performance powder coatings. LF710F resin has hydroxyl functionality allowing for crosslinking with polyisocayanates or amino curing agents. Powder coatings based on LF710F exhibit excellent durability in exterior weathering exposure, resisting chalk, color fade, and gloss loss. LUMIFLON LF710F is supplied in flake form. It is soluble in various common solvents and may be used in high performance solventbased coatings. It may be used on a variety of substrates requiring long term weatherability. FEVE resins tend to have good adhesion to metal. Depending on the service environment, they may be used to coat directly over metal without the use of primer.

Bakelite® PF 7365 LP resins serve as excellent crosslinking agents for epoxy, polyester, alkyd and other resin systems to form coatings with good adhesion and chemical resistance properties. Crosslinking takes place either under high temperature (-180°C) or via acid catalysts. They are used with epoxy and polyester resins to produce chemically resistant coatings for food contact and anti-corrosion coatings.

DMPA® Dimethylolpropionic Acid is a unique and versatile hindered diol molecule with both hydroxyl and carboxyl functionality.

TRIMET® TME is a tri-functional polyol with a compact neo-pentyl structure. It is available in two grades, Technical and Pure and in two forms, cake resistant briquettes and granular. Pure grade is only available in granular form. Owing to the properties associated with its neo-pentyl structure and functionality, TRIMET® TME is considered to be a high quality polyol that can improve performance in a variety of applications.

Resicure® 2MI is commonly used as a sole curing agent or as a dicy and anhydride cure accelerator in epoxy resin based formulations. Typical loading level as a sole curing agent is about 3-5 phr and as a dicy and anhydride cure accelerator is about 0.5 – 1.5 phr. Jet milled grade of Resicure imidazole is available as Resicure 2MI-J.

These microcapsules are designed for coating applications where coating self-healing is needed for extended coating durability. The AMPARMOR® 3000 series is recommended for use in solvent-based, water-based and powder coatings, and is compatible with most coating resin types including epoxy, polyester, alkyd, urethane and acrylic systems.

Amparmor® 1000 is a uniquely engineered microcapsule containing a patented blend of healing agent based on silicone-based resins, co-crosslinking agents/enhancers and adhesion promoters. These microcapsules are designed for coating applications where coating self-healing is needed for extended coating durability. AMPARMOR® 1000 is recommended for use in liquid solvent-based, water-based resins and powder coatings, and is compatible with most coating resin types including epoxy, polyester, polyurethane and acrylic systems.

Technicure® D-44 is a pulverized grade of dicyandiamide with an average particle size of about 20 micron. The products contains fumed silica to prevent clumping and improve flow. Typically the product is used with epoxy resin between 3-8 phr. Due to larger particle size, the products offers lower exothermic heat than the finer grade of Dicy. Technicure® D-44 reacts with epoxy resin at temperatures higher than 170°C unless an accelerator is used. Suggested accelerators include Technicure® LC-80, Technicure® LC-100 and substituted ureas such as Technicure® MDU-11M, Technicure® PDU-250M and Technicure® TDU-200M. The type and loading level of an accelerator will provide excellent balance of low temperature reactivity and formulation shelf stability.

POLURENE T70 can be used in combination with tested hydroxylated components for the formulation of 2K non-yellowing topcoats with good resistance to chemical agents. POLURENE T70 can be diluted with esters and aromatic solvents up to 10-15%, without any precipitation process, whereas with aliphatic solvents like white spiritit is recommended not to dilute the product below 30% solid content.
