SynFoam ELG is a two part closed cell syntactic resin system that is based on epoxy rather than polyurethane chemistry. ELG can withstand continuous exposure up to 300oF and retain it's rigidity. SynFoam ELG has low dielectric loss and dielectric properties. The weight is significantly lower than most low loss materials used for electronic applications. The system is suitable for both electronic potting and encapsulation as well as structural support. SynFoam ELG is shipped as two components which when mixed together can be poured and cast into various shapes and sizes. SynFoam ELG is available in 1 and 5 gallon kit sizes. Each kit contains an A and B side that must be mixed together prior to casting. SynFoam ELG does not require temperature to cure, but requires higher postcure temperatures to reach the maximum service use temperature. Please consult the appropriate instructions prior to using ELG.

ARPRO® 3429YEFR is a fire retardant expanded polypropylene.

HYTAC® WF is a high strength, high clarity thermoset epoxy syntactic plug assist material that maintains a performance characteristics even at temperatures up to 450°F (230 °C). Designed to result in improved clarity for APET and other clear polymers, HYTAC® WF incorporates glass spheres less than ½ the diameter of most syntactic foams. This translates to a more easily polished surface finish and provides nearly three times the strength and twice the stiffness of standard epoxy syntactic plugs.

Kayco Composites U10 is a rigid, closed-cell, high-density polyurethane foam core panel. It is a foam with no reinforcement.

ACP Composites Aramid Honeycomb Core - Standard Cell .060" is a lightweight, high strength, nonmetallic honeycomb core material manufactured from meta-aramid fiber paper with a 1/8" hexangular cell and density of 1.8 pounds per cubic foot (PCF). After the honeycomb is formed, it is coated with a heat resistant phenolic resin to increase its strength and thermal properties. It exhibits high strength-to-weight ratio, exceptional stiffness, and is very bondable.

SynFoam SI is a RTV silicone rubber based syntactic foam that can provide for continuous exposure up to 350oF. The system is suitable for both electronic potting and encapsulation. SynFoam SI is a closed cell foam that is easy to cast in place and will provide a smooth surface. SynFoam SI is ideal for shock and vibration dampening applications requiring a lightweight, flexible material with excellent thermal and electrical properties. SynFoam SI grades are available as 1 gallon and 5-gallon kits. We also provide custom coloring of SI products. Pet Foam is a thermoplastic core material suitable for a variety of sandwich applications to increase performance and reduce weight. Nomex® AHN-4120-3/16-6.0 is an Aerospace Grade Nomex® Honeycomb which exhibits high strength and toughness in a small cell, low density, non-metallic honeycomb. It is particularly noted for its corrosion resistance. This material is fire resistant and is typically used in transport aircraft construction where low O.S.U., smoke, and toxicity characteristics are a necessity. This material also exhibits good thermal insulation properties and also has good dielectic properties. This honeycomb is easily machined, formed, and shaped and well suited to adhesive bonding.

HYTAC® W was CMT’s first commercially-produced epoxy syntactic foam. With low thermal conductivity and CTLE associated with the syntactic structure, it proved to the thermoforming industry that felt-covered wood plugs could be resigned to the dustbin of history. While still used in low-volume or low-cost applications, W has been supplanted by other, superior levels of HYTAC® materials. It has low thermal conductivity and specific heat, this translates to lower heat transfer reducing warm-up time and virtually eliminating material sticking to the plug. It is dimensionally stable which means, that the low coefficient of thermal expansion means the plug maintains its shape over a wide temperature range.

Divinycell PN is a structural thermoplastic core material perfectly suited in a variety of sandwich applications to increase performance and reduce weight. Divinycell PN is used in industrial, transportation, marine and wind applications. It is easy to machine and has good dimensional stability at elevated temperatures. It is suitable for a variety of processes including infusion, prepreg and press bonding. The material has a stable closed cell structure and is insensitive to moisture, decay or rot, making it an excellent substitute for organic materials such as balsa and plywood. High density Divinycell PN (PN200 and PN250) is particularly suited for flooring, decking, local inserts in the way of fittings; either tapped or bolted through and has very good screw retention. Divinycell PN is 100% recyclable.

TYCOR® W4.1 provides designers a cost advantage compared to balsa and structural foam. The fiber-reinforced pre-form core is designed for vacuum infusion. Fine cell foam minimizes excess resin absorption and provides durability during handling and processing. TYCOR® W0.1 engineered core materials optimize weight, stiffness and strength in infused applications enabling structures that can be made lighter, less expesively and more reliably than old generation core materials.

Thermo-Cor™ FR 15.0 phenolic foam is a rigid, semi-closed celled, foam that comes in a full range of densities from 2.0 pcf to 40.0 pcf.Thermo-Cor FR has a higher compression strength ratio than competing phenolic foams of the same density. Its superior structural strength makes it well suited for stand-alone panels and stress skins used either as thermal or acoustical insulation for commercial applications, especially in hospitals, nursing homes and other public places where low smoke and toxicity are important.
