The mechanical properties of the unfilled RTV are rather poor. Therefore the properties are improved with the addition of appropriate fillers i. e. Carbon black, fumed or precipitated silica and other fillers well known to formulators with expertise in compounding silicones. The product group is beneficial in formulating filler free, transparent systems which require good mechanical properties.
