BHJ has a long history as an international supplier of meat and fish raw materials for the food and pet food industries. BHJ is headquartered in Denmark and is a subsidiary of The Lauridsen Group, Inc. (LGI), a US company. We have processing facilities and offices in Asia, Europe, North America and South America where we employ a total of more than 900 employees. BHJ was founded in 1969 with the primary objective of sourcing and processing raw materials from Danish slaughterhouses and fish producers for the food and pet food industries. During the 1970s, BHJ expanded into meat trading activities, manufacturing of functional animal proteins for food, processing lines for the meat processing industry, and transport services. Internationalization set in during the 1980s with the establishment of subsidiaries and an international network of suppliers. At the end of the 1990s, BHJ decided to focus on the core business areas, and non-core activities were divested.

BHJ Ingredients Chicken Fat is produced from chicken carcasses of food grade. If highest quality is requested for your application, the deodorized chicken fat surely meets all requirements. A top level of low FFA and per-oxide value ensure the best for your end product and the fat has a more neutral and modest odor and taste.

BHJ Ingredients Lard Standard Deodorized is produced from pork raw material of food grade. Lard is a living food tradition with a comeback due to recent science. Taking ordinary lard to a higher level, the soft refining of a deodorization brings you the supreme quality together with a mild taste and neutral smell. Deodorized lard can be used in food applications where the balance of taste and highest level of quality is requested in for example fried food, pastries as well as spread on bread.

BHJ Ingredients Bone Tallow is produced from beef bones of food grade. Deriving mostly from the bone marrow, this fat is highly appreciated for its taste, suitable in many different food applications as canned soup, fonds or boullions. The attractive price level also makes it suitable for use within the oleochemical industry. In dry pet food it can make the difference to gain the desired palatability.
