Founded in the early 1990s by the Hampson family in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada, Fibrox produces a wide range of specialty mineral fibers used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications, including heat shielding, high temperature gaskets / seals, thermal insulation, acoustical insulation, fire protection barriers, chimney insulation, composite reinforcement applications, refractories, vacuum-formed products, hydroponic growing medium and asphalt reinforcement (SMA).

Fibrox develops and supplies engineered mineral fibers that serve as the base ingredient for composite materials. Precisely designed fibers begin as high purity minerals and by-product slags that are melted in coke-fired cupolas and then sent through a multi-stage, technologically advanced process that results in products that are high in demand for a variety of composite end uses.

PMF® Fiberwear CG is produced from high purity mineral ores in an electric arc furnace, the precisely designed fiber is used as a reinforcing material in a variety of composite end-uses including friction materials; quality plastics; paints; caulks; sealants, coatings and gaskets. Fiberwear CG is available with a fiber index of 70%. Additional surface treatments are available for this versatile product that also boasts thermal stability, consistent uniformity and excellent tensile strength and is the perfect alternative to asbestos. The world class engineered fiber is available with a fiber index of 70%. Additionally, application specific surface treatments can be integrated into the process.

PMF® Fiberwear CG

PMF® Fiber 204 CX is produced from high purity mineral ores in an electric arc furnace, the precisely designed fiber is used as a reinforcing material in a variety of composite end-uses including friction materials; quality plastics; paints; caulks; sealants, coatings and gaskets. Fibrox PMF 204 milled fiber has a fiber index greater than 95%. It boasts thermal stability, consistent uniformity and excellent tensile strength and is the perfect alternative to asbestos.
