Flytac 114 is a slightly yellow transparent solid obtained by the esterification of gum rosin and maleic anhydride using glycerol or pentaerythritol. This product is soluble in coal tars, esters, and turpentine oil, insoluble in alcoholic solvents, partially soluble in petroleum solvents, and soluble well in plant oils. It has the advantages of stable color, resistance to yellowing, good heat resistance, and adhesion.
