  • Functions:Chelating Agent, Mineral Source, Supplement, Buffers & pH Stabilizer, Stabilizer, Antioxidant, Emulsifier, Mineral Source
  • CAS Number:866-84-2
  • Chemical Family:Organic Salts
  • Dosage Form:Capsules, Tablets
Jungbunzlauer Suisse AG Tripotassium Citrate is supplied in accordance with the requirements of the Food Chemical Codex (FCC), the US Pharmacopeia (USP), the European Pharmacopeia (Ph.Eur.) and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012 always in their latest versions. It is produced by complete neutralization of citric acid with a high purity potassium source and subsequent crystallization. Tripotassium citrate is used in foods, beverages, and technical applications as buffering, sequestering or emulsifying agent. It usually replaces trisodium citrate whenever a low sodium content is desired. In pharmaceuticals it is used as potassium source and as active ingredient to treat urinary duct stones. When added to oral care products, tripotassium citrate is the active ingredient to reduce the sensitivity of the teeth. Tripotassium citrate occurs as transparent crystals or a white, granular powder. It is an odorless substance with a cooling, salty taste. It is slightly deliquescent when exposed to moist air, freely soluble in water and almost insoluble in ethanol (96%). In contrary to other potassium salts, it is less bitter and thus can be used at higher concentration levels. Tripotassium citrate is a non-toxic, slightly alkaline salt with low reactivity. It is chemically stable if stored at ambient temperatures. In its monohydrate form it is very hygroscopic and must be protected from exposure to humidity. Care must be taken not to expose tripotassium citrate monohydrate to high pressure during transport and storage as this may result in caking. Being a leading producer of tripotassium citrate, Jungbunzlauer is able to provide a very promising natural alternative flame retardant for solid wood. The food-approved substance is safe and easy in handling. Furthermore, tripotassium Citrate is one of the few fully biodegradable and non-toxic flame retardants.

Jungbunzlauer Suisse AG Potassium Gluconate
  • INCI Name:Potassium Gluconate
  • Ingredient Name:Potassium Gluconate
  • Functions:Chelating Agent, Mineral Source, Supplement, Buffers & pH Stabilizer, Alkalizing Agent, Mineral Source
  • CAS Number:299-27-4
  • Dosage Form:Tablets
Jungbunzlauer Suisse AG Potassium Gluconate is supplied in accordance with the requirements of the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), the US Pharmacopeia (USP) and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012 always in their latest versions.Potassium gluconate is the potassium salt of gluconic acid, which is obtained from glucose by fermentation and subsequent neutralization with a potassium source. Potassium gluconate is recommended for introducing or enriching potassium in food, especially in dietetic food. Furthermore the product acts as a buffer salt and as a salt replacer in foodstuffs where sodium salts are not desired. In pharmaceuticals, it serves as a potassium source against potassium deficiency or as a systemic alkaliser. Potassium gluconate is also used in technical applications e.g. as sequestering agent in textiles or for galvanic surface treatment. Potassium gluconate is a free flowing, white to slightly yellow, crystalline powder with a slightly bitter taste.Furthermore, it is non-toxic and possesses good physiological compatibility so that it may be used in food and pharmaceutical products. Jungbunzlauer potassium gluconate is supplied in its anhydrous form and shows little hygroscopic behavior. Aqueous solutions of potassium gluconate resist oxidation and reduction, even at high temperatures, and are not corrosive. It is easily biologically degradable and consequently, provides no wastewater problem. The directly compressible form potassium gluconate shows optimal tableting properties due to its amorphous structure.
