Koster Keunen Bayberry Wax is obtained from the fruit of the bayberry shrub. This all-natural wax,native to Central and South America, consists predominantly of triglycerides with C-16 carbon chain lengths. Formulators will find the esthetics hard, brittle, and fatty to the touch.

Kostene C-30 is a low molecular weight polyethylene. When used in conjunction with volatile oils and solvents such as cyclomethicone, isopar and isododecane, it will act as a thickener and add hardness and slip to formulations.

Koster Keunen’s Vegetable Wax Natural proprietary blend provides a blend of naturally derived wax, butter and glycerides. Cera Bellina is a derivative of natural beeswax where the free fatty acids have been converted to polyglycerol esters, therefore increasing the hydrophilicity of the molecule. Elimination of these fatty acids improves stability, oil gelling, and increases overall consistency of a formula.

Koster Keunen Castor Wax is derived from the plant Ricinus communis. The oil is hydrogenated to make this hard, brittle, high melt point vegetable wax. Koster Keunen Castor Wax can be used in all cosmetic and personal care products. It is used to thicken emulsions, bind antiperspirants and can work to disperse pigments. It is widely used in lip balms, anhydrous systems and color cosmetics.

Koster Keunen manufactures Behenyl Beeswax by modifying our beeswax to produce a behenyl ester in order to make it less crystalline. Behenyl Beeswax has a wide range of oil gelling capabilities beyond standard beeswax.

Rice Bran Wax is a high melting point vegetable wax obtained from winterization of rice bran oil. Rice Bran Wax primarily consists of high molecular weight monoesters ranging from C-46 to C-66. Our refinement process allows the wax to retain policosanols, phospholipids, phytosterols and squalene for superior quality.

Koster Keunen has created this unique self-emulsifying wax that allows for simplification in formulating emulsions. SE Synthetic Carnauba is a blend designed for all industries where cost can be a factor. This single wax is used for thickening, film forming and some emulsifying.

PEG Carnauba is a polyethylene glycol derivative of natural Type 1 yellow carnauba wax. Formulators use it as a thickening agent for film forming and emulsifying. It imparts a non-greasy feel to your formulations and gives the final product additional slip feel. PEG Carnauba, a cost effective raw material, provides superior stability. It is film forming and imparts a non-waxy feel when compared with other conventional cosmetic ingredients. In emulsion systems, the high molecular weight monoesters (> C-60) are popular for their film forming and barrier properties. Monoesters are very easy to stabilize using PEG Carnauba.

Behenic Acid is a plant derived high molecular weight fatty acid. This emulsifier is a highly pure version of behenic acid that will give conditioning to both skin and hair.

Koster Keunen has created this unique emulsifying carnauba wax that allows for simplification in formulating emulsions. The high molecular weight monoester added to the carnauba eliminates the stabilization issues of straight carnauba in an emulsion.

Behenyl Alcohol S75 is a white, waxy solid that functions as a thickener, binding agent, solubilizer and gellant for low viscosity fluids. This behenyl alcohol contains a small amount of fatty alcohols for unique properties while formulating.

Cetyl Esters wax is a naturally derived ester made up of a mixture of saturated fatty alcohols and fatty acids. It meets the monograph of the US Pharmacopeia and can be used in OTC products and topical pharmaceuticals. Cetyl Esters is used primarily to thicken emulsions while acting as an emollient for improved feel.

Kester Wax K-59 is a natural long chain, plant-based ester wax. It has excellent oil gelling and oil binding capabilities, as well as broad compatibility with lipid cosmetic ingredients.

Koster Keunen Sunflower Wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the winterization of sunflower oil. This wax consists of long chain, saturated C-42 to C-60 esters. These esters correlate to hardness, crystalline structure, and a high melting point. It functions as a strong gellant and consistency modifier in sticks and emulsions.

Kester Wax K-48, a long chain ester wax, provides excellent oil gelling and oil binding capabilities with a broad lipids compatibility. Koster Keunen prepares K-48 by the esterification of fatty acids with fatty alcohols. Kester Wax K-48 functions as a thickener and emollient in many applications.
