Michem® Prime 4983R provides outstanding adhesion to both metallic and cellulosic substrates and enhances the water, grease, oil, and solvent-resistance of coatings and adhesives. It can serve as a tie coat or primer for extrusion coatings, a foil laminate, specialty paper coating, paper sizing agent, heat sealable coating, and a nonwoven binder, and used as a thermally active binder in thermal transfer release coatings.

ProHere® E 00002 is designed for formulating anti-corrosion primers and pre-treatment sealers for metallic substrates to provide excellent adhesion to various metallic substrates like steel, electroplated steel and aluminum. In addition, it provides excellent water resistance and chemical resistance to acids and many solvents.

The adhesion properties of Michem® Prime facilitate its use as a primer for extrusion coatings. Utilizing this "tie coat" functionality, dissimilar materials can be combined to produce a substrate with the unique properties of each material.
