Jasmine is a genus of shrubs and its name came from Greek word 'jasme', which means fragrant oil. It is native to Northern India and Persia, introduced to Europe in the middle of 1600s. Nowadays, it is mainly cultivated in France, Morocco and Italy. (R)-(-)-linalool in jasmine has unique scent making us relaxed.
