Paradigm Labs Pyromescent is a one-part water based intumescent coating similar in appearance to ordinary latex base paint. Upon exposure to flame or heat, it immediately foams and swells (intumesces) providing an effective non-combus- tible insulation and heat shield to protect the subsurface. Pyromescent also cures to a durable, mold-resistant protective coating for the long-lasting protection of most construction materials.. It can be used for the protection of post-remediation surfaces as well as new construction applications. Pyromescent contains EPA-registered mi- crobiocides to prevent mold, mildew, algae, bacteria and biological growth on the coating surface. Pyromescent can be applied to many types of surfaces providing an at- tractive flat finish. Pyromescent passes fire retardancey tests ASTM E 119 and E 84. Pyromescent low-VOC for- mula contributes 1 point via LEED Credit 4.2 (low-emitting paints & coatings) to any project.
