Soy Technologies is a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturer headquartered in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Originally founded in Delray Beach, Florida in 2001, the company’s original charter was to develop renewable (bio-based) chemistries meeting or exceeding upcoming emission regulations. Now, almost 20 years later, the company maintains that original charter, and has invested millions in the research, development, and marketing of environmentally friendly chemistries of finished products and raw materials.

Early on the company adopted a mission statement that reads “Developing environmentally responsible chemistry…safe for the user, safe for the air, and safe for mother earth”. What does that really mean? It means ALL products developed and marketed by the company must have a toxicity profile that is safe for all users; All products must be emissions-friendly by rating as VOC Compliant in all states; and all products must be based on renewable and biodegradable resources…and they are.

Soy Technologies’ patented technology is marketed under trademarked company and private label brands, and sold to manufacturers and industrial distributors.

At Soy Technologies, we understand your commitment to sustainable chemistry; we are rather obsessive about it ourselves. Our commitment to bring sustainable soy-based chemistry to the market is exemplified by the Soyanol™ line of functional additives. We have formulated these products to help meet the most pressing needs of formulators today, while maintaining strict regulatory and environmental compliance. Soyanol™ products will help you find solutions to meet the growing challenges presented by increasing scrutiny not only of the VOC content, but also of the hazards presented by additives such as phthalates or APE surfactants. Soyanol™ products utilize high grade refined soy oils as their primary component. Our materials have undergone a rigorous review process at the U.S. EPA and we have qualified the materials under the Design for Environment program. We have also had the materials verified by the USDA BioPreferred program, ensuring that these sustainable solutions meet the most demanding criteria. Products bearing the Soyanol™ trademark meet the following criteria such as no hazardous or toxic materials, no alkyl phenol ethoxylate surfactants, No carcinogens, reproductive toxins, or ozone depleting compounds, use high quality, clear soy esters, non-flammable, no Proposition 65 components, no HAPS, no phthalates or other endocrine disruptors, best available soy chemistry, and grown, processed and packaged in the USA.

Soyanol™ 5000X-HS is viscosity and flow modifier for solvent borne coatings, non-phthalate plasticizer, it is compatible with most conventional resin systems and exempt solvents, provides excellent dispersion characteristics in paints and stains, deep penetration is excellent for wood and concrete applications, it improves leveling, increases open time for better cure rates and smoother finishes and it is more efficient than other options (use less, get more).

Soyanol™ 5000X-HS

Soyanol™ SGE40 is a unique ultra low surfactant emulsion system, it is base for paints, wood and concrete stains or adhesives, it is compatible with standard latex and acrylic resins and compatible with other alkyd dispersion resins. It is low surfactant system improves water resistance and finish. Soy provides oil base performance in waterborne emulsion systems. Many custom blending solutions available that will save you time and money.

Soyanol™ SGE40

Soyanol™ 5000X-TB is a unique thinner Base for use in compliant lacquer and paint thinner formulations. It is certified Formulations by SCAQMD, has multiple base formulations available for blending of compliant solvents. Typical usage 7% to formulate a 25 g/l VOC thinner solution.

Soyanol™ 5000X-TB

Soyanol™ 1000E is water-based additive for paints or stains, highly compatible with many chemistries, including most latex, acrylic and urethane emulsion systems, it helps develop high stability emulsions, increases open times, improves freeze / thaw performance over industry leading coalescents, also does double duty as coalescent and plasticizer, it is efficient and cost effective solution which has typical usage 2%-7%.
