CompositeWrap™ BDC20 Carbon Fabric is a medium weight, high tensile strength bidirectional carbon fabric. This material is engineered to provide extremely strong, durable and lightweight composites for structural reinforcement. CompositeWrap™ BDC20 Carbon Fabric is easy to apply, corrosion resistant and can be applied at any thickness required to provide adequate structural reinforcement. It easily wets out and can be installed using the wet lay-up technique.

BB 2100 is a standard modulus carbon fiber precision cut from tow, with typical mechanical properties. These fibers are ideal for introduction into Bulk Molding Compound (BMC) materials, injection molding and pellet production for a wide range of end-use applications. Fibers come with standard epoxy-based sizing chemistry, optimized for use with most thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems. BB 2100 fibers are available as first quality certified materials as well as at discount without certifications. BB 2100 fiber is precision cut according to each customer specified length (e.g. 0.125, 0.25, 0.50 through 2.75" fiber lengths).

Custom formulations are also available. ZOLTEK prepreg properties, such as fiber areal weight (FAW), resin content, and width, are readily adjusted to exactly meet customer requirements. Packaging options include core size, customer specified knitting requirements, and custom labeling. ZOLTEK prepreg production is geared to large volumes and low cost. Special projects are welcomed.

It is suggested for use in weaving, prepregging, filament winding, braiding, and pultrusion. The unique properties of HexTow® IM7 fiber, such as higher tensile strength and modulus, as well as good shear strength, allow structural designers to achieve both higher safety margins for both stiffness and strength critical applications. IM7-G 12K (0.25%) carbon fiber has been qualified to NMS 818 Carbon Fiber Specification (NCAMP). This allows customers to call out an industry standard, aerospace grade carbon fiber without the need to write and maintain their own specification.

HexTow® PAN based carbon fiber is available in 1/4 inch chopped fiber lengths, sized for compatibility with various resin matrix systems and processes. The chopped product is small, thin, rectangular flake, 1/4 inch long by 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide. The individual filaments are lightly held together by the sizing and will break apart during subsequent processing. The specially formulated sizing systems, in addition to improving bonding, produce a higher bulk density that aids in blending operations and in the flow through mechanical feed systems. Addition of chopped carbon fiber to molding compounds produces a material that exhibits high strength and modulus, excellent fatigue and creep resistance, low thermal expansion, electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent friction and wear resistance, and low shrinkage.
