Trudan Headless is an exceptional hybrid sudan grass for most summer forage needs. It is best positioned and used for hay, haylage and grazing. Other limited uses include green chop and as cover. Trudan Headless is finer stemmed and leafier than Sordan Headless. Regrowth is fast after cutting or grazing. SW107 exhibits increased concentrations of Reb-A sweetener, higher leaf mass production and an improved taste profile that has little or no aftertaste. SW107 has been bred to address commercial processing markets in North America, South America, and other regions of the world that have climates suitable for it. Sakata Seed Emerald Jewel is a small beaded, smooth headed, clean stemmed, multi-use variety that is especially suited for crown cut. This is a beautiful variety; however, the maturity can be quite late during cold growing conditions. We suggest harvesting in the transition slots in coastal CA and during the tail end in the Desert Southwest. Sakata Seed Emerald Star is a very tight-headed, fine-beaded, blue-green colored, crown cut/short trim variety with nice uniformity. The trim is fairly easy for the type due to small leaf attachments. Sakata Seed Avenger is an excellent choice for the crown cut and processing markets. It offers dome-shaped, tight, heavy, blue-green heads with short bracts, thick stems and very small beads. SW129 has very sweet leaves with high levels of steviol glycosides, very low bitterness and aftertaste, excellent overwintering, high plant vigor, high leaf yield and is late flowering. SW129 is ideally suited for commercial level stevia extraction due to these enhanced characteristics.

SW201 not only has a sweet taste with very little bitterness and aftertaste, but exhibited more Reb-A, less stevioside, more total steviol glycosides, a higher Reb-A to stevioside ratio, and a higher percentage of Reb-A to total steviol glycosides compared to the comparison samples from common varieties. An additional benefit for North American farmer is that SW201 has superior overwintering and greater growth and later flowering in comparison to the majority of the plant population from which the line was derived.
