The Melochem 791 Molding Compound in powder form are based on melamine-formaldehyde resins fortified with high-class cellulose as reinforcement and further modified with minor amounts of special purpose additives, pigments, cure regulators and lubricants. The Melochem 791 Molding Compounds can be supplied in most colors from translucent pastels to black. Molded parts are free from odor, light stable and have good moisture resistance. Hard and Glossy surface with excellent scratch and chemical resistance. Fats, oils and common organic solvents like alcohol and acetone do not attack the materials and they are also resistant to surfactants and weak bases. They will also withstand attack from weak acids fro a shorter duration. Oxygen index is 40% and is achieved without the use of external flame retardants. No halogens are present in the composition.

BC 6128 is a black, non-staining, silicon carbide filled, "die surface" surfacing resin. This thixotropic resin system provides excellent surface duplication along with good vertical coverage. Extended mold life due to superior wear resistance and hardness are the major benefits derived from its use. This heat resistant system may be used at room temperature without post-curing. For use above 150°F a post-cure is required. Post cure for applications requiring temperatures above 250°F can be accomplished in an oven or in use by a gradual heat rise; 2 hours @ 150°F, plus 2 hours @ 250°F, plus 2 hours at 300°F. BCC Kwik Kast/Black is a two component, fast setting polyurethane reproduction plastic. BC 8001 sets to a demoldable hardness within 30 minutes @ 77°F. Uses include; tracing models core boxes, duplicating aids, patterns, prototypes, low temperature vacuum form tools, etc.Handling Properties:BCC's Kwik Kast/Black is a fast-setting, two part casting system which requires careful preparation prior to mixing parts A and B. Because Kwik Kast/Black contains components of high density there will be some separation at the bottom of each container. Using a paint shaker, jiffy mixer, or mixing spatula, re-suspension of the ingredients is easily accomplished. Precaution should be taken to prevent any moisture contamination from containers or utensils. It is recommended that the work area be well ventilated and normal cleanliness and safety rules be observed. Avoid prolonged exposure to vapors and contact with skin.Preparation of Mold Surface:Clean the surface from dust and possible presence of moisture. Apply BC 87 Parting Agent and polish to a uniform high gloss finish (usually 2-3 coats are recommended). For plaster or wood surfaces seal with PVC sealer to ensure complete absence of moisture, followed by 2-3 coats of 87 Parting Agent.Mixing and Pouring:Although not necessary, best results are obtained by evacuation of each component under 29 inches of vacuum which removes entrapped air prior to blending the two components. Pour weighed or measured amounts of Part A & B into a separate dry container by pouring Part A into Part B. Mix with a spatula or mechanical stirrer for 30-40 seconds for quart size batches or 40-50 seconds for gallon batches while avoiding air entrapment. Immediately pour mixed resin uninterrupted from a convenient height above the mold cavity. Clean your mixing tools by rinsing in an alcohol type solvent. Larger masses (2 feet or more) may be built up with successive pours. Castings may be demolded within 30-60 minutes but should be properly supported while "green". Under normal conditions, maximum hardness or cure will be achieved in 12-18 hours.

Smooth-Cast™ 326 is fast-cast resin that were developed specifically for adding color pigments and fillers to achieve true color representation or filler effect. The ColorMatch™ Series offers the convenience of a 1A: 1B mix ratio by volume and has a very low viscosity.
