"Neptune's Harvest fish hydrolysate is an all organic, highly nutritional protein fertilizer, made utilizing naturally occurring enzymes present in fresh North Atlantic fish. We produce this using a cold process employing enzymes (natural biological catalysts) which break down fish, or fish frames (the part left after the filet is removed for human consumption) to simpler protein complexes. This process is called Hydrolysis. No synthetic materials are mixed into the fish hydrolysate, and the only manipulation the product undergoes is grinding and hydrolysis. This process yields a stable, non-odorous, liquid fertilizer that is an easy to use, safe product. The nitrogen in Neptune's Harvest fish fertilizer is derived from fish protein in the form of amino acids which when added to the soil, slowly break down into basic nitrogen compounds. While a percentage of nitrogen becomes soluble due to the nature of the manufacturing process, no inorganic nitrogen has been added. In the past, there have been advantages in using manufactured chemical fertilizers, however as we now realize, this has been at the expense of the environment and depletion of many soil elements. The continued application of only concentrated chemicals on the soil have reduced much of the biological life that contributes to the efficient utilization of many plant nutrients. Neptune's Harvest hydrolyzed fish does no biological damage to the soil and will promote the growth of beneficial bacteria making the soil less compact and better able to drain, yet hold moisture better for future plant use as it is needed. With our cold process, the vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, and growth hormones are not damaged or destroyed. Because no oils or proteins are removed, the nutrients remain in the soil longer, and lower N-P-K rates can be used to meet or exceed the results obtained by chemicals with much higher rates. Some advantages to using hydrolyzed fish fertilizer are that it rebuilds soil, gives excellent plant growth with increased yields, and is made from a renewable aquatic resource. Our hydrolysate fertilizer is filtered through an 165 mesh screen as a first step, and then through a 150 micron screen before it is packaged. This ensures an ease of application with most irrigation sprayer systems that is second to none. Beware of imitations. One of our goals was to create an insecticidal soap that did not contain alcohol. What a surprise it was to find that the most common insecticidal soaps at your favorite garden center are 96% alcohol in ready to use form! We know that alcohol will frequently cause leaf burn or leaf drop - a crime for those of us that show roses. We also hoped to capture, in a single bottle, as many of the benefits of some historically well-known remedies and treatments for plant disease, mites and fungus. It was an exciting evolutionary process, as we combined ingredients first to create a natural, environmentally friendly insecticide, then decided to see just how “big” a product we could create, and began adding other ingredients to address mites and fungus. Leaning heavily on University studies, our thinking about treatment options shifted from a single product approach to a treatment “system” as we began to consider the possible stages of treatment. For instance, in our test gardens, we wanted to give our healthy plants every opportunity to continue to be healthy on their own without any (or minimal) treatment. Thus, we applied only our Garlic Pharm repellant (with fungicidal properties) in an effort to prevent insect infestation and control fungus. If a plant did become infested or infected, we would then use our insecticidal soaps where the pure essential oils (also containing miticides and fungicides) eliminate the pests. Finally, we would routinely fertilize and nourish our garden twice monthly using our fish fertilizer, with fungicidal properties. We found that this treatment regimen - frequent application of repellant (with fungicide), application of insecticidal soap product (with fungicide) upon infestation, and regular fertilizing( with fungicide ) to nourish and control fungus - gave us excellent results without the use of any harsh chemicals, and our plants loved it! That is the story of how the line of Pharm Solutions products was born, and we are happy to say that if you use our products according to directions, you too will be able to manage insects, mites and control fungus in your growing endeavors, however large or small.

Southern Agricultural Insecticides, Inc. was started in the 1930’s headed by Hans Diem. During this time, crop dusting by hand was the most common method of pesticide application. Custom dust blends included ingredients such as Sulfur, Copper, Pyrethrin and Rotenone. Personnel and equipment was often moved between locations in Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina to maintain a year round business. The company was incorporated in 1947. John Diem joined the business after a servicing the war stateside in explosives manufacturing. SA-50 became the company’s trademark because 0.5% pyrethrin dust was the flagship product. The four blocks on the logo represented the Swiss flag. In the later part of the 1940’s the company started to distribute and formulate many of the newer products that were being developed by such companies as Bayer, Ciba, Dow and Dupont. In the 1960’s and 1970’s many of the customers were vegetable farms and feed stores. In the 1980’s, the business expanded into supplying pesticides and fertilizer products for turf, ornamental and garden centers. The company is still owned and operated by the founding family.

Garlic Barrier is a very strong liquid garlic extract that mixes with water and is sprayed on farm and garden plants to keep insects off. The garlic used in Garlic Barrier is a very powerful variety which is much more potent than the garlic found in grocery stores (in fact, our lab people here refer to it as "super garlic").
