Chroma-Chem® 844-9957 colorants are designed specifically for use in high-performance, non-aqueous, industrial coatings. The various pigments in this colorant line are dispersed in a proprietary acrylic resin vehicle. This vehicle provides excellent wetting and dispersing properties superior to other acrylic resins. The solvents used are a blend of Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether Acetate (PMA) and Naphthol Spirits. They are non-Red label and conform to Rule 66 and similar regulations. Each colorant contains a carefully selected and unique blend of vehicle, solvent, pigment and surfactants to yield acceptance in a wide range of non-aqueous coatings applications. The individual Chroma-Chem® 844 colorant formulations are designed to minimize the surfactant and additive levels needed to achieve colorant acceptance in a variety of coatings systems. A recent effort has been made to remove APEO additives from the 844 colorants. The back of the product sheets shows information about each colorant in the line, including whether the colorant is formulated with APEO additives.

KURARAY POVAL™ 8-88 by Kuraray is a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) having varying degree of polymerization and hydrolysis. It is a water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It is notable for its good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity because PVAs have such good cohesion and good adhesion to fibers, fillers as well as pigments. KURARAY POVAL™ 8-88 is used in a similar manner as natural products such as casein as well as starch and its degraded derivatives (for example dextrin) as raw material for the production of aqueous adhesive solution. In comparison to dextrin and casein it has the advantage of a more uniform chemical structure and greater adhesion, being obtained with minimum raw material requirements. It features water-solubility, excellent film forming characteristics, high tensile strength and elasticity, as well as resistance against organic solvents and dispersing power. For the modification of aqueous adhesives its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, increase of the setting speed and influence on the rheology. It is biodegradable and recyclable. KURARAY POVAL™ 8-88 is used in producing silicon base paper that are further used as release paper for PSA labels and also in remoistenable adhesives which are employed mainly in the paper processing industry, films applications.

AOC's Vipel F013 series is a bisphenol A epoxy-based vinyl ester resin dissolved in styrene. The Vipel F013 series is ideally suited for use in hand lay-up, spray-up, filament winding and pultrusion processes where outstanding mechanical properties and excellent resistance to chemicals and heat are required.BENEFITSVersatileWide formulating capabilities allow for use in many processes and for optimization of cost/performance.Unique composition produces a tough and versatile resin with excellent crack and craze resistance in molded parts.Vipel F013 is suitable for moldings that are subjected to particularly high static or dynamic loads, such as pipe, tanks, duct work and flooring applications.
