ECO Tween™ is a 100% bio-based ethoxylated sorbitan ester based on a natural fatty acid (palmitic acid). This ethoxylate is highly effective at forming O/W emulsions, particularly when used in combination with its non-ethoxylated derivative.

Tween™ series surfactants are polyoxyethylene derivatives of the SPAN™ series products. Tween™ surfactants are hydrophilic, generally soluble or dispersible in water, and soluble in varying degrees inorganic liquids. They are used for oil-in-water (O/W) emulsification, dispersion or solubilization of oils, and wetting. Frequently, Tween™ surfactants are combined with similarly numbered SPAN™ surfactants to promote emulsion stability. ISOCARB acids are derived from Sasol’s proprietary Guerbet alcohols, available with even numbered carbon chain lengths of 12, 16, 24 and 32. ISOCARB acids comprise excellent corrosion inhibitor for the metalworking fluids. They also improve the formulation stability for metalworking fluids, both for semi-synthetic and fully synthetic and may be neutralized to the salt using widely available amines.
