Divinycell P is a closed-cell PET structural core with excellent fire, smoke and toxicity behavior. It is thermoplastic and recyclable, offering good mechanical properties, high chemical resistance and does not absorb water. Divinycell P is ideal but not limited to applications requiring demanding FST properties like public transport, architecture or commercial marine. Due to its good dimensional stability at elevated temperatures, Divinycell P can be processed with medium temperature pre-preg systems and it is compatible with most commonly used resin and manufacturing systems. Divinycell P is easy to thermoform, cut or mill.

Plascore PP Polypropylene Honeycomb PP1-5.0-N1-8 exhibits a unique cell structure. The core has 3 orientations vs. the 2 orientations common with other honeycomb, making its properties more uniform. Each cell has a tubular form and is inherently stable. PP polypropylene honeycomb is supplied with or without a non-woven polyester veil for better bonding. AI-24 of syntactic has been formulated to take advantage of the inherent insulative properties of the material due the cellular structure resulting in interesting acoustic properties. AeroRigid™ 2623 is a sandwich panel made with facings of fiberglass cloth reinforced epoxy laminate and Nomex® honeycomb (SAH) that is designed for use in commercial aircraft interior structures and non-structures such as crew rests and galley areas.

Non-metallic honeycombs are manufactured from high temperature resistant aramid paper formed into a honeycomb structure, and coated with a phenolic resin. The combination of aramid paper and phenolic resin gives types A1 and A10 their superior strength, toughness and chemical resistance. The honeycomb cell shape is normally hexagonal for optimum mechanical properties. It can also be overexpanded to produce a rectangular cell shape and provide improved drapeability for the production of curved parts.

With a higher allowable density, SF can provide excellent long-term performance at depths where volume is not limited. HexWeb® HFT® is a fiberglass ± 45 degree Fibertruss® bias weave reinforced/phenolic honeycomb. This bias weave construction enhances the shear modulus properties of the honeycomb core. The shear modulus for HexWeb® Fibertruss® HFT® is about twice that of HRP® (honeycomb made of straight weave fiberglass) and three times that of HRH® -10 (honeycomb made from NOMEX® ). This makes HexWeb® Fibertruss® HFT® honeycomb ideal for applications where minimum deflections are required. There is little change in flatwise compression properties due to the bias of the glass. HexWeb® Fibertruss® HFT® has improved damage resistance and handling since the 45 degree angle of the fiber at the cell wall corners allows greater flexibility. This increased flexibility allows the HexWeb® Fibertruss® HFT® to be formed more easily than straight weave honeycombs, resulting in reduced shop losses and simplified fit up of parts during assembly. HexWeb® Fibertruss® HFT® has improved node bond strength and flexibility that makes it possible to offer a 1/8-inch cell fiberglass reinforced honeycomb. This, together with the higher shear properties, makes HexWeb® Fibertruss® HFT® an excellent core for use with high modulus graphite or other composite facing materials. The potential problem of galvanic corrosion with untreated aluminum honeycomb is eliminated, and the small cell size provides uniform support and bonding area for such facings.

Gillcore® HA is an economical alternative of Gillcore® HD for non-aerospace applications. Divinycell HT is an aerospace core available with comprehensive quality documentation and traceability. This material exhibits good strength characteristics and is fire resistant. It is available in a variety of cell sizes and densities to suit most purposes. Typical applications include lightweight non-structural bulkheads for ships, joiner panels, shelters, antennas, and auto body panels. This material is not intended for aircraft or aerospace applications. This material also exhibits good thermal insulation properties and also has good dielectric properties. AIREX® C70 is a closed cell, cross-linked polymer foam that combines excellent stiffness and strength to weight ratios with superior toughness. It is non-friable, contains no CFC’s, has negligible water absorption, and provides an excellent resistance to chemicals. The fine cell structure offers an excellent bonding surface. Compatible with most resins and manufacturing processes AIREX® C70 is ideally suited as a core material for a wide variety of sandwich structures subjected to both static and dynamic loads. Thanks to its unique lightness (properties vs. density) C70 is the material of choice for applications where lightweight is a priority.
