Andisil® 171 Silane

1 of 500 products in this brand
The dual nature of its reactivity allows Andisil® 171 Silane to bind chemically to both inorganic materials (e.g. Glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (e.g. Thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers), thus functioning as a crosslinking agent, adhesion promoter and/or surface modifier

Functions: Adhesion Promoter, Coupling Agent, Crosslinking Agent

Chemical Family: Silanes, Vinyls, Vinylics & Vinyl Derivatives

Compatible Polymers & Resins: Chloroprene Rubber (CR), Polyethers, Polyethylenes (PE), Polystyrenes (PS), Silicones, Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR)

Applications & Uses

Applications

Silanes are used in a variety of industrial applications as:

  • The dual nature of its reactivity allows Andisil® 171 Silane to bind chemically to both inorganic materials (e.g. glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (e.g. thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers), thus functioning as a crosslinking agent, adhesion promoter and/or surface modifier.
  • Provides superior elongation, flexibility, and spreading at the interface as a coupling agent.
  • Improves adhesion between glass, mineral and metal surfaces and aminoreactive resins.
  • Improves adhesion, while maintaining good shelf stability as an additive to waterborne systems.
