Andisil® 172 Silane

1 of 500 products in this brand
Vinyl-functional coupling agent, It is very easy to dissolve in water as well because of its ether structure. Silanes are used in a variety of industrial applications. Organofunctional Silanes have an organic functional end group and an alkoxy functional end group which allow the silane to act as a bridge between organic materials and inorganic substrates. The organic functional group is matched to the resin system while the alkoxy group provides the reactive site for crosslinking. These materials are useful as adhesion promoters, crosslinking agents, surface modifiers and hydrophobizing agents.

Functions: Adhesion Promoter, Coupling Agent, Moisture Scavenger

Chemical Family: Silanes, Vinyls, Vinylics & Vinyl Derivatives

Compatible Polymers & Resins: Chloroprene Rubber (CR), Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM), Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPM), Polyethylenes (PE), Polystyrenes (PS), Silicones, Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR)

Applications

Silanes are used in a variety of industrial applications as:

  • Coupling agents
  • Crosslinkers
  • Moisture scavengers
  • Resin additives
  • Surface modifiers
  • Vinyl-functional coupling agent, It is very easy to dissolve in water as well because of its ether structure.
  • Used mainly in mineral-filled EPM(Ethylene propylene monomer) and EPDM(Ethylene propylene diene monomer) cables.
  • Used in the production of silane-modified polymers that serve as binders for paints and adhesives, and as an adhesion promoter in primers and coatings.
