Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Compatible Polymers & Resins
- Plastics & Elastomers End Uses
- Applications
- Mercapto-functional silane used as a coupling agent in polysuflide and polyurethane caulks and sealants
- Useful in sulfur-cured and metal oxide-cured elastomers; Can be either added at the time of compounding or used to pretreat minerals before hand
- Lower levels of this sulfur containing silane are used since it is efficient and fast
- Improves the adhesion of polysuflide and polyurethane sealants to glass and metal surfaces
- Enhances properties in mineral-reinforced products such as shoe soles and other rubber goods
