"Abbey Masterbatch Ltd is major manufacturer and supplier of a range of Thermoplastic Masterbatch, particularly Black, White, Color and Additive masterbatch. The company also supplies masterbatch based on Engineering and Speciality polymers plus offering Conductive Compounds and Masterbatch. In addition a range of Color and Pigment Dispersions is manufactured and sold. We are based in the UK and are an independent family owned business with currently three generations of the family employed. Export sales account for over 70% of our sales.The original company was formed in 1984 as Abbey Thermosets Ltd. Following an MBO in 1996 by Michael Shirt, a former director, the company was transformed into a successful masterbatch and dispersion business. This was followed by a change of company name to Abbey Masterbatch Ltd to reflect the change in business model. The company registration is 1793834. The company is situated in Ashton under Lyne, UK in a multi-story, 18,000 square meter factory. A substantial investment program of over £500,000 has been completed in 2014 which included additional buildings, manufacturing and warehouse plus office facilities, which increases our capacity by over 30%. The company has an excellent record of growth. In 2004 the company achieved BS EN ISO 9001:2008 status. In 2006 the company was awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2006.
