Applications & Uses

Applicable Crop
Application Information

Avoiding spray drift at the application site is the responsibility of the applicator. The interactionof many equipment- and weather-related factors determine the potential for spray drift. Theapplicator and the grower are responsible for considering all these factors when makingdecisions. The following drift management requirements must be followed to avoid off-targetdrift movement from aerial applications to agricultural field crops. These requirements do notapply to forestry applications, public health uses, or to applications using dry formulations.1. The distance of the outermost nozzles on the boom must not exceed 3/4 the length of thewingspan or rotor.2. Nozzles must always point backward parallel with the airstream and never be pointeddownwards more than 45 degrees.Where states have more stringent regulations, they must be observed.

Environmental Hazard

Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas belowthe mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwateror rinsate. This product may contaminate water through drift of spray in wind. This product has a highpotential for runoff for several months or more after application. Poorly draining soils and soilswith shallow water tables are more prone to produce runoff that contains this product. A level,well-maintained vegetative buffer strip between areas to which this product is applied andsurface water features such as ponds, streams, and springs will reduce the potential forcontamination of water from runoff. Runoff of this product will be reduced by avoidingapplications when rainfall is forecasted to occur within 48 hours. Sound erosion-control practiceswill reduce this product's contribution to surface water contamination. This chemical has properties and characteristics associated with chemicals detected in groundwater. Use of this chemical in areas where soils are permeable, particularly where the water tableis shallow, may result in groundwater contamination.
